This was probably our best performance this year and a huge result against a side who hadn't lost at home since October.

 

Thame had an early chance when a through ball found Danny Keen in the second minute who shot wide from 20 yards when well placed. We replied in the sixth minute when Danny Benstock won the ball in the Thame defence and centred for Vinnie John who also shot wide from a good position. Dimitri Kharine had to tip over the bar in the 23rd minute when a curling free kick from Tony Joyce was flicked goalward. Our winning goal came in the 28th minute when Benstock touched the ball forward for John whos blocked shot looped into the goal despite a desperate attempted goalline clearance. Steve Jones and John had further chances before half time with Jones having a header cleared off the line.

 

The second half was end to end but both defences coped well with all that was thrown at them. Thame worked hard for an equaliser and looked increasingly more dangerous towards the end of the game. They came close to equalising in injury time when a 25 yard free kick from Alex Stewart was tipped over by Kharine.

 

In all a much more spirited performance from everyone involved than what we have been used to recently. The defence looked much tighter, the lads in midfield worked hard and Jones and John up front ran their hearts out.

 

Line-up: Kharine, Marsden, Kimble, Gooding, Jopson, Moore, Lowery (Cowley), Southon, Jones, John, Benstock. Subs not used: Cripps, Elder, Wood (GK)

how many fans did you bring to thame im guessing 50 max but the crowd is given as 412,thame get two men and there dogs to the games so where did the other 300 come from,i know you lot wouldnt cheat on your home crowds(ha ha piss myself laughing).someone please explain.

 

oh by the way which idiot thought both urchins and slough can get into the top two,dont they realise three into two wont go,still what do you expect from an essex person and maths,probably played truant when you were supposed to be at school or shagging behind the bike sheds.

another classy post from a bumbling camel...if it was me i'd be to embarrassed to have a go at someone else on their forum if we'd just dropped 17 points out of 18....still...I s'pose thats why the clubs plummeted into obscurity over the last few years

 

as for the attendance figures...well I can believe them..the club had set up a youth initiative and had let the under 16's in at a much reduced price...same as we do for every home game...on top of that we took about 50 with us and of course many many more came to watch the silky samba skills of the urchins...queing up around the block they were...all asking for urchins stars autographs...great thinking from Thame and a nice lively crowd on a sunny afternoon...

 

great game...nice facilities...nice people (i stood with one of their coaches and he didn't mind at all...thoroughly enjoyed the game and the chat...thanks mate whoever you were..)..great result...(and other results)..

 

try and pull yourself together camel..theres a good chap....we've set up a camel helpline to assist you all as you come to terms with second division football next season...ha ha ha ha...gotta larf lads aint ya....he he he

Very Nice win yesterday a lot of fight in the lads which was good to see.......Leyton will be gunning for us because of the differance in positions but we gotta show them why where 2nd........

Does anyone know if the thame manager has managed someone else this seasom maybe Aveley i reconized him u see and i cant quite put where from.....mmmmmmm....
