I don,t believe they hold anything, but i am more than likely wrong, If a punter took them to court to get there money back, I would suggest that the court would look upon it as a donation, as its a trust, so if its a donation how can it be buying anything, as in say a share as they all claim, there has been a number of statements on here saying that they are a charity?? if thats the case then there monies is surly a donation, so could not have bought a share, or are they a Ltd company and not a charity organization ? just wondering really, if there allowed to be both?

If we do vote on that, trust me that the Strongbow may actually have a bigger place at the bar.

And AFF, Bud and Fosters? Really... you're in the states, you could have picked worst ones to stick at the bar.

As the saying goes (at least here): Local bar, Local fare, Local drink.

rvr

I most certainly could have rvr, but these people in Gravesend/Northfleet, are mere dim witted yokels(or so some people seem to think), don't get out much and only know a few foreign beers! laugh

The 55,200 shares figure quoted by Dave is as at 2006. There are in fact more to come but the Trust have yet to receive the share certificates from the Club. It is hoped that this issue will be resolved shortly. The Trust has not stood still in the acquisition of shares in the Club, but the overall value/percentage of all existing shareholders shares will, I understand, be affected by the proposed takeover. This I suggest would be yet another pertinent question to add to Dave's list. I don't suppose you have had a reply from the directors yet?

Setting aside the fact that you appear to have gone into the information retailing business why should I give my money to the Fleet Trust and not MyFC now that the trust has come out unanimously supporting the deal ?

Reason 1 - No £7.50 admin fee!

Reason 2 - A minimum annual fee of £10 to join the Fleet Trust as opposed to £35 with MyFC.com. Each buys a single share under Industrial Provident Society rules. In the case of the Fleet Trust you would physically receive a share certificate.

Reason 3 - Members receive a Fleet Trust lapel badge.

Reason 4 - You will know that you are helping the Club. The Fleet Trust is a not-for -profit organisation.

There must have been a whole lot more information divulged in the room than is in the public domain to enable a vote to be taken with any certainty, if not why vote. By doing so it would appear they have thrown their hand in unresevedly with MyFC when they had an opportunity to remain independant and a potential rallying point for the sceptical fan.

Surely a statement would have sufficed.

If they are unanimously in favour of the deal then I would question their potential as a rallying point for sceptical fans.

Exactly, so by taking a vote and unanimously and unreservedly throwing their support behind the deal they have a) made it less attractive to people who thought that the Fleet Trust might take a more independant stance B) lost an opportunity to differentiate themselves from the MyFC trust. Hence my question back up this thread (the money and the lapel badge are somewhat immaterial, I am talking about objectives goals etc)

If both the Trust and the board think this is the way for the club to progress then they should obviously be backing the takeover publicly.

You can back the takeover in such a way with a supportive statment which doesnt potentially paint yourself into a corner.

What happens if things start to go pear shaped MyFc can trot out the fact that they have the unanimous support of the Fleet Trust on any occasion they choose. I would be more inclined to join had they stated that they 'welcome the opportunity to work with MyFC to safeguard the future of the club etc etc' weasle words yes but sometimes useful. Unless, of course, their unequivical support was a deal breaker which I doubt.

Some people clearly won't be persuaded whatever the argument but the Trust and the Club need to swing some of us not sures by being positive.

Maybe that will work for some.

Anyway thats my lot on the subject, I am but one individual. The Trust as the title says have spoken and they have had a very busy and maybe at times difficult 10 days and I have no wish to make it any more so.

So, the supporters trust have come down on the side of MyFC! I guess they have their reasons - most probably to do with having heard both sides of the argument! Something that most of us here haven't had the luxury of...
Until ALL facts (from MyFC, the Club and the Trust) are available, I cannot comment on their decision - I just hope its the right one!

So this means EVERYBODY within the trust was in favour?

Or was the word "Unanimously" misused?

I would imagine in a case like this there is value in being united in the decision. That said, given the information from Mr Botley I would suspect that if indeed there was a minority against, this would have been small anyway.

It was either take a step back for Ebbsfleet United or try to take one forward(financially speaking).

I do not think it was that hard a decision in the end.
