Just cut and pasted from the BBC website:-

"The decision to dump McClaren rests with 10 of the FA's committee: Manchester United chief executive David Gill; Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards; Bolton chairman Phil Gartside; Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks; Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney; Dave Henson (Devon FA); Michael Game (Essex FA); Roger Burden (Gloucestershire FA); John Ward (Hampshire FA) and Barry Bright (Kent FA)"

Who the hell are these guys? They seem to be in charge of our glorious game.

Personally I think that these esteemed gentlemen should select the England side and we should appoint Sir Norman St. John Stevas as coach, I'm sure he's as ably qualified as anyone else (assuming he's still compos mentis). He should take tactical instructions from the representative of the Dorset FA and perhaps by 2068 we may have a side that can win the World Cup, assuming we qualify.

I will be long time dead before an England side achieves anything of note apart from attracting derision from the rest of the footballing world.

Yes, I am seriously p*ss*d of at the parlous state of our national team, appoint Roy Rogers I say he's a cowboy and so are the present incumbents, they should get along just fine.

This rant was brought to you courtesy of one seriously annoyed England fan.

Well there would`nt be any Gooners in the English side would there!!! mad mad

Teams like Arsenal are killing the National side, to boast just one Englishmen (Theo Walcott) who plays occasionaly is an utter disgrace! chainsaw

McLaren was a bad choice as Coach, but he does`nt have much to choose from! How many Englishmen play a decent level of competitive football (i.e Champions League cause Uefa cup is turd).

The Same 4 teams play Champions league year after year and are all full of foreigners. Sums this po*y country up as a whole! bigcry

John Terry, Fat Frank, Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge (2nd string), Joe Cole, SWP (2nd string), G Neville, Wayne Rooney, Owen Hargreaves, M Carrick (2nd String), Wes Brown (2nd string), Peter Crouch (2nd String) Carragher and Stevie Gerrard!

That is his best options.....no Goalkeeper, No real Goal-scorers, No fu*cking depth! cry

Harsh but so very true mate!

I saw a stat that 35% of the Players who played in the last round of premiership matches were English! Awful!

And the Ones who are playing dont give a to*ss! The Gerrards, Lampards, Ferdinands of the world.

I believe that a Footballing Nation like England should be able to put a second string side out and still win that group. Maybe 6 years ago, but not now with a lack of depth due to a lack of Englishmen in the top flight!

JJ blaming the foreign players is ridiculous. It goes much deeper than that. What the foreign players do is make the young English players better because if they are good they won't make it. If they are quality they will. Playing moire English players won't make the National side better. It will just breed mediocrity!

If the foreigns are to blame why is it we failed to qualify for the 74 and 78 World Cups when there were hardly any foreigners in The English game? Since the foreign invasion in 95/96 we have reached 2 semi finals and two quater finals in major tournaments. The quality of football in the premiership is better and the English players are better quality! If you don't believe that I'll post the 1992-1994 England Squad and the one from the last 2 years!

The real problem is the FA, a s**t manager and the attitude of players who are overpaid and don't give a s**t!

Totally agree with Jenks here.

I dont think the amount of foreign players is that much of a problem, as it makes the Premiership exciting and the best league in the world.

As for English talent, if it was good enough, then they would be keeping these foreign players out of their respective sides...

The current England crop are a bunch of overpaid, greedy nonses, and its about time they proved their worth.

I think it's so stupid to say they don't care, every man cares about winning every football match, from international football to a game in training, the problem with the England team is the players are bigger than the coaches and England are possibly the only team in the world who don't play a particular system. Which is probably because the manager is scared to tell the players what to do.
