Here goes my rant!

Overpaid prima donna's! Look at the rugby players. Weren't not happy with the coaching and tactics so took responsiblity and done it themselves. Our players just are not good enough but think they are and thats the problem! Thank god I follow Arsenal and not England!

Steve McClaren - Do people forget he was head coach under Sven? Poeple didn't like the way we played under Sven so what do we do...employ the man responsible for coaching the team. He was 3rd or 4th choice for God's sake! The press and fans cried out for an English manager after Sven and its serves them right for what has happened. What has he done? Nothing at Boro. If the FA, who are maily responsible for the fiasco, wnated an English manager why not go for Big Sam? He done wonders at Bolton and looks at every aspect of the game. McClaren has no European football experience on a regular basis. IMO he is worse than Taylor because Taylor had a poor selection of players compared to McClaren.

A national manager doesn't have the players day in day out so needs to get the best out of them on a one off basis. Mourinho would be good. We may not play great football but we would be passionate, organised and hard to beat. Last night we could have lost by 5 or 6. Why can't we keep the ball? Croatia played us off the park. Maybe get a respected ex player as manager, maybe as his first job, as a figure head with some good coaches behind him. It has worked for Klinsman, Van Basten and Bilic.

Modric = Arsenal player in the summer!

Robinson is s**t but why replace him with a young keeper playing his 2nd game in a game of such importance? Why don't we stick to one system? Why insist on trying to play all your players? Pick a sytem and 11 players to play in it and make the tough calls by putting other players on the bench! We looked good against the average sides and s**t against a good team. It has nothing to do with too many foreign players in the premiership. It has improved the quality of football and in stead of mediocre English players coming through, the young English players are better. Its about attitude.

Bridge = The worse performance I've seen from an England player. Kaiser get your boots son!

Lescott and Campbell = Shocking. Neither are good enough. Thank god we sold Campbell.

Lampard and Gerrard = Doesn't work! How many times will they play together before someone realises? Lampard is the new John Barnes. Good for club s**t for country! Most over rated player in the Premiership. Gerrard ran his bo**ocks off but never looked comfortable!

Barry = Average! Looked good against the lesser sides but the Croatian midfield made him look like what he is...an average player. Got to play your best players all the time and HArgreaves has been there, seen it and done it. Should have started with Gerrard.

Cole = Never a wide player, doesn't give a s**t when he plays and agin has John Barnes syndrome!

Wright Phillips = Bottled it big time. Has talent but was lost last night.

Crouch = Done well, under rated, looked like he was up for it and should play with his goal scoring record!

Beckham = Good for 10mins but is well past it. Is never gonna be able to play international football playing in the US.

Overall we were given a life line but we were shocking and have a poor manager! Over paid players with no passion!

Can't believe we threw it away after being given a chance at the weekend

As you say Carson looked scared and lacked confidence from the first minute

Bridge was pure tripe and Campbell is too slow now

Both Lampard and Gerrard looked like they were playing far too deep to be effective and crouch played well

Jenko - good post and I agree 100% At least this way it saves us the embarrassment of saying we are going to win Euro 2008 !!

BTW - If I was at Wembley last night I would have ran on the pitch and knocked Wayne Bridge sparko..........because :

1) he is an absolute useless fcking c u n t who shoud never play football again (let alone for his country)

and

2) If he was knocked out, lying unconscious on the wet Wembley turf, he probably would have kept the ball more !!!!

I so agree with most of what you say about the manager and individuals players, but I think that is just symptomatic of a bigger problem that starts with the idiots at the FA and I am afraid to say all of us that have any involvement in football in this country right done to the hyped up parents that know sweet (or not so sweet) FA about football ranting on the touchlone each weekend watching little Johnnie play.

It comments like "boot the ball", "hack him down" "get stuck in" that do very little to develop the basic skills of an 7 or 8 year old. Unfortutaly a bottom level FA Coaching badges are being given out like free papers at Liverpool St Station to over weight over egoed dads who are trying to make up for something they did not acheive in their youth. The FA like it because they can say look at all the people we have got quailified.

Teh when some of these players do coem through the ranks, they realise there skills are way short of thr foreign imports. Look at the Eduardo last night, he picked up a ball with little on, held on to teased the defence before palying a defence splitting little ball into his team mate who had made a very intelligent run. Now when do you see an Engalnd players doing either what Eduardo did or what the goalscorer did.... never and I tell you why. Its because we not only don't breed skillful players, our top players are mainly all thickos. Foreign players have greater IQ, and use their noddles. It is a game of chess at that level. Go back to 1966, the players then seemed to be of a much greater intelligence to the bunch we have these days.

Ok so McClaren was the wrong bloke (but what did the glorious El Tel do to help him)but then allegedly so was Sven, So was gung ho Keegan, and so was Hoddle.

i wasnt goign to get drawn on this cos just cant be asked to talk about it.

abysmal performance last night.

pitch looked like something out of eastern europe not the brand new wembley. felt sorry for carson.

if he was going to drop robinson he should have gone with david james for the most important game of the year.

why play a 4-5-1 at home? he f-u-c-ked up there.

fair play to peter crouch who was the only player to give a decent account of himself.

gerrard was a disgrace last night, lampard may as well have not played, i think bridge is better then cole but perhaps lacking match fitness???, campbell loves giving ball away, lescott beaten in the air by 3 foot midget in build up to second goal.

HOW HAS JOLEON LESCOTT GOT AN ENGLAND SHIRT OFF.

i hear mcclarens been sacked, thank F-U-C-K for that.

BRING IN MOURINHO.

Someone should send that to the FA IMO but which clown would listen to it....

I echo Jenkos's and Smallsys comments, cause I didnt want to get drawn into this convo at all.

Very disappointed at how we can play so badly on such an important night.

Like Alan Shearer said. "You can accept one or two players not turning up, but TEN players???"

Peter Crouch - Quality. Absolutely worked his b*llocks off, and what a great goal. Complimented by a great cross from Beckham.

I cant think of the next best player. Joe Cole showed signs he wanted to make something of it, and at time Sol Campbell showed the experience, but he has nothing around him.

Carson was absolutely shot the pieces in the first half, but im pleased he made some good saves in the 2nd half.

I still can't believe the state of the pitch???

FA have f*cked up big-time, and they have to take a like chunk of the responsibility for the pitch, and unfortunately the manager.

RIP McClaren.

Boroman you are absolutely spot on! The new badges they give out are s**t! The courses are absolute toilet! I learnt more form watching a good coach in action and reading some footie books. They are giving the qualifications out so that can say how many coaches they have because there was concern that many coaches weren't qualified. What's happened? Anyone can get on the course and pass it!

Bit like Degrees. When I went Uni it meant something. Now you can get a degree as easy as anything. Some of the guys on my courses couldn't even kick the ball 30 yards or hadn't even played footie for a club as a kid. How can these people demonstrate techniques to kids?

When I first done a coaching badge 10 years ago it was a better course but the philosiphy was so out dated and behind the rest of the World. I have always tried to coach in small sided games and with the ball. It was only a few yaers ago that the FA decided to change kids footie and the way they are coached. Its all about small sided footie now. I remember playing as a 7 year old, 11 v 11 on a massive pitch and touching the ball about 5 times in a game. What on earth did you learn? Now the philosophy is right but the people teaching are not!
