Don't you have children yourself, wouldn't you rather stay home on Boxing Day to play with them and then chill out in front of the tv in the afternoon with a pile of cold turkey sandwiches and a few cans of Stella watching the Great Escape. That's certainly my preference rather than having to get up early struggle up to Cranfield United or Sun Postal Sports in the freezing cold and not get home till 8.00pm.

Most blokes are desperate by Boxing Day afternoon to get out of the house! (and their wives are desperate for them to do so) Whatever you say, the proof of the argument is in the attendances for Boxing Day/ New Year's Day fixtures. Clubs that can attract a decent gate anyway get double or more on public holidays. Lots of people who can't get on Saturday afternoons, for example, turn out, along with their in-laws visiting from Doncaster etc! If you only get 16 for a normal game, it's not worth bothering, to get 30-40 !

Talking of Watford I see that Spidermanor is keeping quiet following two surprise defeats at Barnsley on Saturday and at home to Burnley last night

probably because this is a SSML forum therefore Watford is largely irrelevant to it. Mind you I didn't exactly see his posts all over this forum like a rash when they were winning games therefore no change in his postings towards them.

I rest my case...thank you.

Lato - I can read Spidermanor like a book and know that he's gutted about his beloved Hornets recent displays, following the drinks event at Hamilton Hall in June I described him as an old fashioned school teacher type of bloke who rarely, if at all cracks a smile. You're also probably his only good friend as you always seem to be joined at the hip and have certainly always been together when I've seen you in person such as at Coles Park, the legendary friendly at Grosvenor Vale in August last year and at Hamilton Hall.

hmm vintage rhodes. Someone disagrees with him by pointing out a fact that contradicts his opinion and he immediately launches into supposition and character assassination. Glad to see nothing has changed in rhodesworld
