2008/9 Ins and Outs

Recommended Posts

Whatever happens, I would hope that the CCL does all it can to help and support clubs with ground grading issues.

There is always the county fa's and the FA to assist in helping to get funding for ground improvements.

I don't have a problem if clubs want to groundshare to promote through the pyramid. I have thought for ages that ground-sharing is the way forward for many clubs.

But I don't see the point in clubs being accepted to step 6 if they cannot develop their own grounds in order to promote.

The cut off point for floodlights is currently step 5.

This should be extended to step 6 leagues that feed into another division in their league. Alternatively, clubs should be allowed 1 calender year to obtain the necessary planning permission to enable promotion to step 5 having been accepted into step 6.

not too sure about that chris, clubs should be able to go as high as they as can,

if its coco 1 that is the highest let them play there even if they cant get promoted,

not everyone can end up in the conference!

groundshare is a tricky one. it could at an extreme lead to a franchise system, where a club keeps changing grounds as it rises up the pyramid, with no base or history or perhaps loyalty.

groundshare temporarily while a ground is worked on is ok, or when a new ground is being built.

two well run clubs where one cant get permission because of their locality to make the required grade and the other has all the facilities but doesnt make full use of them could work together.

2 x first teams and midweek youth matches played at main ground and 2 x reserve sides at the "smaller" clubs ground . train at the non developed ground.

not a merger but a sensible use of facilities.
