2008/9 Ins and Outs

Recommended Posts

Notwithstanding any possible withdrawals and exclusions, am I correct in saying that the CCL premier division will be reduced to 20 clubs next season?

If so, has the league announced any promotion/relegation policy or criteria?

Are the bottom 3 or 4 clubs this season under threat of relegation?

What about potential clubs crossing the pyramid at step 5.

Who might we lose - who might we gain?

Sorry Wembers on posting another "boring" thread! flowersmile

I think the FA want 20 clubs in Step 5 leagues. There is also the possiblity of this new league that may end up being Div 2 of the CCL. There is scope for a lot of changing around if all that happens. So maybe clubs kicked out due to Ground Gradings. But we shall see smile

Don't think the other leagues agreed to it being the CCL div 2, also there could be the case of Div 1 teams meeting the silly gradings they are supposed to have, so who know what will happen.

Speaking from a club that the grading will effect I kind of agree with having better grounds for players to play on.

i.e. barriers around the ground to stop the ball going for miles and also to stop people from standing in the pitch.

A stand for people to be sheltered from the rain from.

These are 2 god ideas but a lot of clubs can not do the work as they are just not allowed to, nothing to do with costs.

Also having high grading is all good if there are teams in a lower league that can come in and take your place in the league as they have a better ground, but this is not the case.

What will happen is teams that will look like going up but can't due to their own ground will go a ground share or hire and this is not good for local football. Team will go and play outside of where they are based and even fewer people will come and watch.

As for Floodlights just don't see the point at Step 6, but would be great to have some night games but not necessary though.

Off for a pint !

By the way.

Meadowbank often gets criticised, however.

Lights ? - YES

Pitch Barriers ? - YES

Stands ? - YES.

Might not be the best in the world, but they are there.

QUESTION:.............

Is this is why some people see the possibility of.........

Oooops. Must go. I'm told my pint is on the bar !

Calm down Mr Teflon

Was not having a poke at Bookham, this backs up the point I was making.

You have to go and ground Hire from else where that is not in Bookham because the ground is not good enough.

This is going to happen more and more and is this going to be good for local non-league football
