Last nite....

went to the Cobham Vase game 2-3 to Rye i'm afraid.

 

Saw some funny thing last nite with the Rye keeper slicing a clearence to the Cobham striker on about 3 mins for 1-0. This keeper seem to have the mobility of a Wooky (and the size.

 

Thought Jurg might like to comment on the "incidents" in his penalty area, was that a slip or trip in the 1st half ?? and how did the ref miss it !!! Think everyone else saw it

 

Good too see Lightning McQ and Rattled there too

 

Thought Cobham were gonna boss it but twice they let Rye back into the game and Rye get the winner 7 mins or so from the end

Yeah, we threw away a 2-1 half time lead to concede 2 in the last 12 min. They gave us a lesson on attacking crosses with purpose IMHO.

Thought we were a bit naive in trying to close out the game and didn't do enough of the simple things coupled with hard work to take the pressure of ourselves!!

Yeah we didn't take enough of advantage of their keeper and his lack of mobility!

What "incidents" would they be then Teffs? I can't think of any that I was involved in

What about the one when you got up and tried to head butt the striker or did you slip/ stumble

Haha it was purely an innocent slip and then the allegations of headbutts started flying sbout . I've never heard so much whinging in all my life

As for the mullet comments, I've heard them all before...it's just jealousy

Cobham's ground wasn't even that soft considering the amount of rain!!

Pitch looked good and held up well I thought, so no reason for you to slip into their stirker with your head !!!!

Haha, I'll have to make sure I put some new studs in to stop it happening again!!!

Yeah big shame, like I said earlier we stopped doing the simply things to close the game out and invited the pressure on...fair play to them as they took it with both hands...but properly gutted with the result!!

As for the bookings I'm not sure, but must have been close to double figures (not sure how it really ended 11-a-side).

What did you think of the ref? The Rye fans seem to think he was the best they had seen at this level (!), but didn't think he was the best (some of his bookings were for nothing, yet he let more substantial things go!!).
