Looking at the league table we lie in the unenvious position of 2nd bottom. Yes, we have games in hand and yes, "if" we win games in hand we can jump straight into the top 5. My incentive to the lads (presently here, and ones to (arrive) would be that Sunderland last season occupied this position for what seemed like all season ! - Going closer to home did Canvey not occupy this position in their promotion season after losing a straight 6 odd games. And if you really wanna bring it right upto date, folk were wondering where Maidstones next win would come from! Now look at them!

 

So, just goes to show what a funny 'ol game it is.

 

Now who was it on the Isthmian board who wrote Heybridge off yesterday! smile

Someone on the Ryman board has also pointed out that the bottom club has already got more points than the clubs that finished bottom in the previous two seasons.

 

I'm not a maths expert but, if the points spread from top to bottom are closer than normal, I think that may mean less are needed to win a play-off spot.

Spot on Rik. Just to show what a mad league it is we are 7 points (basically 2 wins) from Maidstone in 6th!

Of course all this means nothing if we do not pick up points - but we have been around long enuff to know how quickly non league tables can change.

Very nice of you LF - As for sorting it out we are currently undertaking a scheming little scheme that will force the league into a reshape of this damned thing called a league table. We have conjured up this plan to ensure the league table is looked at in Aussie land, thus deeming we are now sitting in second place grin

There, now you can see we are much more of a force...Getting worried yet ? wink

I've got an old cloth made from a pair of my grandads old long-johns that I use for clearing up after the dog when the remains of my Vindaloo don't agree with him. Is that any use?

We digress from the title somewhat (Funny old game)...so to bring it back into line - Paul ? What do you think about the current state of affairs between your very own Sean and Master Foster. Will you be setting up a hall for the bout ? For what it is worth, i lean heavily in the Sean camp. A good non league knowledge (imo) - against a seasoned campaigner who can never quite admit a defeat grin
