And thats based on seeing him play how many times? Against what level of opposition?

And MyFC members wonder why there is resistance to that specific part of their drivel promise!

Get a grip PatMan...I'm sure it was tongue in cheek.
Who WAS Scott Dawson?

I look forward to a journalist from The Warcry replacing Liam at the earliest opportunity !!! Rattle them tins brother !!

At this point, expects a rebuke from CG about The Salvation Army and reference/little joke thereto !

Cheers,

We all know that to sell papers/advertising on TV ,etc that the Media ,in 99% of cases, reflect public opinion rather than prescribe it.
Public opinion swayed the England manager when he had the most to risk.
Ahhh...the power of the people.

I am sure it was tongue in cheek as well, just as long as when Lance has a 'stinker' (all 'keepers do) they dont start pushing for him to be dropped!!

I dunno..my experience tells me that most Fans are quite fickle. The old everybody loves a winner syndrome.
Usually sorts out the Fair Dinkum supporters from the hangers on.

At the same time..given the MFC Forum responses to Cronin's efforts of late..wouldn't be surprised to see a push for him to be loaned to the Vatican XI...two more miracles...beatification...Ebbsfleet's first saint.

"Real" fans aren't fickle - why else would they watch Non-League footy?
Everyone loves a winner? This isn't Premier league - surviving is the same as winning to most clubs at this level, nothing to do with a bulging trophy cabinet

Real fans aren't fickle?

Depends on your definition of 'Real fans' I guess.

Check out other FansFocus Forums..particularly clubs who have strung together some ordinary results and see 1000+ posts Fans with XXXXX Forever(put in appropriate club name for XXXXX) tags calling for the blood of managers and players.

A couple of good performances later everybody's happy.

Another couple of ordinary efforts and a poll goes up.

Might have lost something in translation with Fair Dinkum being Australian for Real.

What I was saying was that Fair Dinkum (Real) Fans will keep supporting their club even if they aren't winning. The hangers on usually thrive on winning and will quickly go missing with a string of adverse results.

As far as the media reflecting public opinion is concerned..I stick by it. The newspapers/Current Affairs TV shows/Sports Shows tend to take their cues from their 'demographic'.

Target your most profitable demographic(be it in circulation or Advertising revenue)....identify their biases/prejudices/attitudes/beliefs and aim your medium at that group.

Sure many are guided by what they read but I think its more often than not the media massaging their already held leanings.

Can't understand your cynicism re the motives of great Australian..American...Australian/American...Americo-Australian...whatever he is...we gave you Rupert Murdoch!!

Local joke:

Called it XXXX because Queenslanders can't spell beer.

Local advertising campaign showed a lot of sweaty Aussies in typical outback work situations whistfully looking pubwards and stating in a thirsty voice:

"I can feel a XXXX comin' on!"

Made Yank tourists laugh as XXXX is a brand of condoms in the States.

AND...to make you salivate as you probably haven't been to the pub yet today(what is the time over there?)..I had 3 schooners and two middies of chilled (yes thats how we drink it over here) XXXX Gold at the Wagga Wagga Country Club(nice course but not really a 'Country Club') after a less than competent 9 holes of very ordinary golf this afternoon.
