Found on the MyFC site for those entering the black hole that is the Fleet Forum, posted by a regular on here:

 

If you are thinking of visiting the Fleet forum, some things you might find useful:

 

 

• There will almost certainly be people lying in wait to challenge/reject/misinterpret everything you say, however reasonable you are. They are very "loud" but in actuality very few in number.

 

• One of the most prolific is, in fact, a supporter of Hornchurch, not the Fleet. Others are indeed loyal Fleet supporters & some have been for many years. A few of these have really taken against the idea of MyFC, quite possibly because it was proposed by our board & there are some who distrust those who manage the Club, accusing them of keeping supporters in the dark & treating them like idiots. In my opinion, this was very true of some previous administrations, but not this one, although other people would immediately counter that the name change back in April & the present situation suggest otherwise.

 

• The most unreasonable of these people do not represent the majority view. Indeed they number 4 or 5 at most, though they are extremely active & seemingly ever-present. Even those who believe MyFC is a bad idea do not support these few posters who reject out of hand anyone whose views do not tally with their own. Some people who continue to challenge many uncertainties about how the whole thing will run have happily admitted that they have paid their £35 & joined up.

 

• Don’t be afraid to argue your case on our forum, but please be careful not to be so wound up by the stubborn bloody mindedness of the few that you offend more open minded Fleet supporters who will read the postings.

 

My view on how things stand between us

 

In my opinion, many, maybe most, Fleet supporters realize this gives us a heaven sent opportunity to develop in a way always dreamt of but never seen as a reality. Indeed, on our gates we were set almost certainly for a return to part time football & very probably relegation at the end of the 2008/09 season. Our directors, whatever some supporters feel about them, would never allow us to rack up an unmanageable debt & downsizing would have been the only option.

 

There are some very thorny issues, such as team selection, the role of the existing directors, the practicalities of transfer dealings & investment for the future. My hope is that all these things can be worked through, without MyFC members feeling that the principal of what they signed up to has been betrayed, or existing Fleet supporters seeing their club become something they no longer feel part of or want to support.

 

This said, there are bound to be some on both sides who feel betrayed, whatever the outcome. My feeling is that, once the undecided have made up their minds & the initially reluctant had 2nd thoughts, that those still rejecting the venture will be a small and shrinking minority on both sides.

• Do your best to belittle the true fans of Ebbsfleet, not only are they few in numbers, they really are stupid, because as you all know, our idea is the best and there is nothing wrong about it.

 

• Be sure to post in American grammar, instead of realise, use realize.

 

• We hold ourselves higher than the others, therefore everything we say should not be posted on on public forums, because we live in a democracy, and censorship is how a democracy works.

I don't see too much wrong with what was posted, tbh.

It is simply one person's opinion - yet most of it is quite truthful - but that's only my opinion.

 

The simple facts are;

NOBODY has ALL the facts yet

NOBODY knows for sure how it will pan out

 

Hence the likes of JC have remained rather quiet.

Just because something is posted you don't agree with, doesn't make it wrong, or even right, for that matter.

if you can't see what's wrong with that moonie type doctrine FF then you surely have been brainwashed....keep deleting the fotos of will brooks as you go...

them and us....?

I have jusr re-read the post I put relating to yours and I hope that you were not offended personally as no offence was intended...

I was merely trying to get the point across that ebbsfleet means so much more to most of these guys than money or promotion can ever replace.....

I have been a fooball man all of my life with over 400 senior games and also management and ownership in NL (in the last context I made many mistakes but clung in there and learned to listen to our fans and not my ego)

I have no problems with individuals looking for a different interest and understand that many of the decent MYFC members will support ebbs in many different ways.....many of them beneficial to the club...

but brooks got it wrong in the way that it was all handled...he also got it wrong in the concept but without the carrot of pick the team he would never have sold it to so many....thats my real concern...

NL football clubs transcend ownership...they belong to the community and the people that support them through generations...they cannot be bought or sold at a whim or used as toys....I made that mistake and survived but I fear that you guys may be making the same one....

I really do hope that I am wrong..

I can categorically state I have deleted nothing this evening.
I am posting in between work, no time to delete stuff.

Maybe ask one of the other moderators, as there are more than just me?

For reference - I haven't signed up to MyFC,
I currently see reasons for and against.
