ah dave I can feel and love your enthusiasm....

there is nothing wrong with myclub supporting ebbsfleet and nothing wrong with decent guys like you and others finding new interests in their lives....but NL clubs aint just for christmas......they are not toys (and I speak from much experience here) they are community entities that transcend ownership....

you wanna be a NL fan.....here's one (I have changed three words) his funeral is on friday and a 1000 people will be there as he 'drives' around his beloved pitch one last time...



harry was 84 years old and was an orphan..he spent his formative years in dr barbados hornchurch orphanage with many other underpriveledged orphans in the austere pre war years of the 20's and 30's he never had any material things nor did he have an education as such apart from the orphanage...he spent his whole time from being young supporting his home team of hornchurch as most of the players were from his orphanage....when the orphanage closed and as the team evolved and changed to upminster wanderers harry was there...when they changed back to hornchurch harry was there...when they moved to the bridge... harry was there....throughout his whole life...through work and war and peace harry was there.....he never married....it was too much of a distraction from his football...

at every game... home and away harry was there.....when I arrived with plans to change things harry was there....he loved all the razmataz as we all did but when things went wrong for me and the club....harry was there offering me the deeds to his house.... which I of course declined....we survived and as we clawed our way back up the ladder.... he was there...

he was always there...win lose or draw....he was a rare breed in a world where winning is everything and few remember or want to think about a different grey age when youngsters from many orphanages (yes they were numerous even in my young days in the 50's) had no radio..no tv.. no toys.. no parents and no love.....

only a football match somewhere....and too harry Hx was his football match....Hx was his family...we are his family...all of us and we miss him

hopefully your support of your new team will... in some way reflect a little of harry's devotion to his....none of us could ever hope to emulate it....

no probs dave...and due respects are always limited to the club of the supporter......sorry for the delay but my fingers on the cut and pastes aint as nimble as they once were.... grin

if you are gonna be a supporter of EU...support the club not the idea.....H would approve.... smile

thank you dave but we'll do that for him in urchin red and white....if you are as good as your word ....then you play the rest of the season with ebbs(time allocation allowed) and support these decent estuary folk who don't have a toy...like harry they have a calling....

How do I get my money back from MyFC and maybe stick it behind the bar instead to give a few true Ebbsfleet supporters a drink ?

 

I bought into MyFC because I liked the original concept. But I didn't want to step on any other supporters' toes and I certainly didn't want to undermine a manager and his staff. If and when Ebbsfleet are up my way (Lancs) I'll go and see them but that's about it. I'll keep my nose out otherwise. Good luck to you and I hope you spend the new money wisely.
