MyFC Yes or No

When I first found out about MyFC I just had to read the website to find out all about it. From that moment on I was hooked. Let me explain why.

I am a lifelong Huddersfield Town supporter (Nearly 50 years). I have supported them in all 4 divisions of the football league. I have had a wish list for season after season, sometimes they came true and others, well you know what happens, they don't read the script and they get relegated.

I have never had enough money to put into my team to make a difference because as you know we went into administration a few years ago and just before the start of the following season we only had 8 players on the books. It was a frantic time to sign players for the start of the season but we survived.

When I saw what MyFC was trying to do, I saw this as a way that I could do my bit for a football club (which one I didn't have a clue) to try and help them along with thousands of others with a like mind. The only thing that mattered was that thousands of true football supporters were going to do the same and the only cost was £35 from each of us.

I have been registered for this venture since April this year and when, a few weeks ago they said we were near to naming the club everyone started to get excited.

When they named the club as Ebbsfleet United, I said who?

I then thought It doesn't matter who, the outcome will be the same and my interest will be the same if not more, because now I have found who? where? when? and all the other questions that I had have been answered.

I will be coming to the match against Stafford Rangers on Saturday with my wife and look forward to meeting people that have the same interest at heart.

MyFC could have been some wealthy Foreign investor who did not know anything about football or the traditions in this country. However all they are is 20 odd thousand true football supporters like me with one aim in life, to help a small club reach heights that have until now been beyond belief.

If this happens then we can all say (included in all is everyone at the club before we came along) that the investment has been a success.

If success does not happen then the extra investment will, I am sure be very welcome and I will not think of it as a waste of money but as a gift to a club that until a few weeks ago I had no idea who they were.

I go along with everything dave_c wrote -

I have read this forum through and can also see why there are so many negatives, but - All clubs need cash and when many genuine football supporters give it (along with some wanna-be managers) take the damn stuff and let's see what we can do together to make good things happen.

Incidentally - I can not attend the next home match as we have just had a new addition to our family - But give it 2-3 months and I'll be over to the uk - Hopefully we'll have a furkin' good chat and drink the clubhouse dry (Will need a hotel 50 metres (3 hours walking) from the club!)

well that paints you with the same brush then in my opinion.....

when the pair of you have spent hundreds of nights on non league cold terraces worrying about where the wages come from next week...THEN you can pontificate on here....?

football clubs transcend ownership 'monsigneur'...I learned that the hard way and survived...these fans are not interested in money if it gets in the way of their traditions and their heritage....

600k..?

fck me it wouldn't pay the alimony to my ex wives.... grin
