the rest, much like valentines day/fathers day/mothers day are pony excuses for card companies to make money..

add in easter, moving house, having a sprog,passing your driving test... these are all avaregae day to day things that do not require any form of celebration...

What is even worse is when the shops have cards for people to send on on days that aren't for them:

I think I've upset my mother for the past 10 years, as I refuse to buy Mothers Day cards, on that very basis.

 

She usually asks me to make one for her, as I insist on refusing to line some corporate fat-cat's pockets. I never quite get round to it. I'm 27 years old, for fx sake. Besides, I wouldn't know how to - it's been years since I used to drool over Janet Ellis on Blue Peter while she put something together with card, PVC glue and glitter.

 

Ditto Valentine's.

 

Think I may have to stop by Safeway on the way home tonight though!!

Why do people with a partner/wife buy them?

 

Valentine cards are supposed to be sent to somebody you want - not somebody you have.

 

Far better to spend that day with a nice meal, some beers and a shag.

 

Oh well, as Meatloaf once said - 2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Which Indian? My top Indian restaurants in St.Albans are The Spice Hut(for takeaways),the Gulshan Tandori and the Alban Tandori

WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

 

There is only one Indian in St.Albans worth going to and that's the Mumtaj, the chef Chad is not only a top olde boy but he is also offically the second best Indian chef in the world and the best in the UK, the only Indian chef better than him is the one that works at a 5-star hotel in Bombay!

 

As for valentines day this is the most depressing day of the year if you're single, I spent mine freezing my bollox off on St.Albans City platform waiting for a train that never arrived, I then aborted valentines day and went home!
