A time of reflection - and a time to look forward

Recommended Posts

We are now running into what are probably the most important 8 games in the club's history. with the quality in the squad and the management we have, we should be a least halfway up the table.

Playing in the conference as part timers, on a limited budget and with a (comparitively) small squad, it is absolutely essential to cut out all unnessasary suspensions. Our discipline HAS been poor this season. Any team will always pick up a number of booking/sendings off during the course of the year, but what can be avoided are the many booking for stupid offencess such as failing to retreat 10 yards, arguing with refs, time wasting.

Eliminate these and watch the number of bookings reduce, and also the number of suspensions.

My second point is that although we have been desparately unlucky with long term injuries and illnesses this year, we still look a little thin up front. The defence looks as if it should cope next year if everyone can get and stay fit, as does the midfield.

Although we have scored plenty of goals this year, we haven't been killing teams off when we've had the chance.

Che had a run of poor form , but has luckily refound his scoring touch. Budgie has returned to Heybridge on loan, Gilo has gone back to Yeovil, Evans is still unproven, the Beast is still injury prone, nor scoring consistently when fit, Simon Parker shows flashes of potential, but that is all, Wilko is a great utility player, but I think he a better defender nowadays than a striker.

To survive next year, I feel we will need to buy at least 1 top quality stiker, if not 2.

That's got that off my chest, let us get 3 points against Nortwich tommorrow and hope all our neighbours at the bottom lose or draw.

CMON you REDDDDSSS !!!!!

Tommorrow we MUST as fans:

1: Shout, Sing, Slur as loud as we can,

2: Bang the drum for 90 minutes even if it may cause Tinitus,

3: Enjoy the game soo much that the players can feel the fun and hopefully produce the goods,

4: NOT criticise even if its a mistake, just encourage,

and most importantly of all:

5: Aim for the elusive world record of 'Andy Fords red and white army' - which must still be second half at home to Scarboro!!

Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum on you reeeeeeeeedddddddddss

I think Barnet away and the entire first half wins!

I'd have to agree with that...Barnet didn't know what had hit them on or off the pitch that evening.
I have been back to Barnet a couple of times since (when unable to follow the Fleet away "oop north") and their fans are a really great bunch, so to completely out sing them on that night was quite spectacular.
Looking forward to seeing them down at ours.....

Point 6:IMO we home fans shouldn't switch ends at half time and instead stay under he roof as the noise we make is louder as we a) seem to sing more and b)Get the echo from the roof of the stand making us louder.

By doing this i'm sure we can help the lads to 3 more points which we really need if we're going to have a good chance of survival
