I think I can totally understand that, I just hope the MYFc do as well.

I didn't hear this interview so I am just going on your summary. If it is accurate then - to be blunt about this - the board of EUFC know what MyFC is all about - they have accepted the basis of its operation - and so has Liam Daish for that matter. If this individual thinks differently I suggest he talk to the members of the board. MyFC will not purchase the club on the basis outlined above..

I must have misunderstood then.

As Roly was very positive about the takeover.

I think he was trying to point out that there are some difficult logistics when dealing with football club matters and for example discussing transfers on an open forum before concluding would be a very difficult method of conducting them.

To be honest I have never been involved in a football transfer so can't judge. But it does seems a perfectly sensible comment from someone who would know.

for my personal opinion if the club you purchsed could not be put to a vote due to the clubs not wanting publicity, then if the said transfer targets club requested the same lack of publicity would you then be able to put it to a vote, but then there must of been a vote to approach the club in the first place, so there is a potential tapping up element.

I don't know the answer, maybe you do.

I can only trust there are enough people with power in myfc community, that can see that you can sometimes throw the baby out with the bathwater, and ( whatever we currently think about the current board) the board have been at the helm for a while and they may just have 1 or 2 pearls of experience or wisdom, that might be of use to you.

If he was crowd pleasing its odd he chose the local Exeter City radio show crowd to please. Cant imagine too many capturing it.

Exeter are a supporters run club, but the difference is, it is their own fans and they don't all have a say in each individual decision, however I do believe they vote on their representatives.
So I would imagine they were interested in Rolys views to see how and if this differed to the proposals being put forward at the Fleet. it was only a short piece.

To be honest although I don't pretend to understand why anyone would hand over cash to a club unknown, and then start to support them , I had started to come round to the idea and was looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
However I do find the tone of the replys a bit worrying.

This now makes a lot more sense - And yes there will be many bridges to cross as this entire process evolves. But football fans, like people in general can have a lot of ingenuity when it comes to figuring things out.

The power in MyFC lies with the members and the membership are a very sensible bunch (well most of them anyway).

The tone of my reply was short and to the point based on the information you provide in the first post. There have been several 'mis-quotes' outlined from individuals which have created confusion. I stated that I didn't hear the interview and was going on your synopsis. I attempted to clarify the actual situation.

Your second post, I would suggest presented things in a different light as I have outlined about.

Thanks for keeping us posted on this.

WobblyWayne,

I strongly suspect when the smoke clears transfers will be done the same way that Ebbsfleet got picked as the buyout target - the criteria will be voted on, agreed and in public, and then the management team will pick one or more that more-or-less fit the criteria, approach them, sign a preliminary agreement subject to later ratification, and then the deal gets announced and ratified by a full vote.

As to whether this can work, if you checklisted the criteria Myfc put up, Ebbsfleet fit all of them ... and it was a total surprise to most everyone here when the deal was announced.

He is not saying anything that Duncan Holt didn't say on Radio Kent on Saturday and repeated again today.

Fleet secretary Roly Edwards has requested that his exact quote on the Gemini FM broadcast be clarified. What he actually said, in response to a question about how it would be possible for 20,000 members to pick the team and make major club decisions, was:

"There is still a lot to unfold with this concept but I don't think it possible to present the team selection one or two days prior to the match, likewise i don't believe it possible for a player transfer to be made public before the event, but time will tell how it all pans out."
