cheers Eagles. Our number 7 is Ebi Smolarek who I've spoken about before. He now has 9 goals in qualifying.

 

Armenia are tough opponents but you got the goal though I thought they had a good shout for a penalty. You should have too much for Finland but if they win you are out. However if Serbia win their last two at home to Polska Reserves and the Kazaks and Finland win then its Serbias who qualify.

 

Germans manipulate rules to their conveneince surely not!!! It does look like being a second seed could be better as you have a 75% chance of drawing either Switzerland, Greece or Austria.

 

The excellent Polish sports paper which devoted 20 pages to the Polska v Belgium game including interviews with all the players but also had full reports of many of the major games played on Saturday had a run down of the seeds assuming that the last four places were filled by England, Portugal, Sweden and Turkey and if seedings were based on results upto and including Saturday (seedings are based on average points per game over qualifying for WC2006 and Euro 2008)

 

Top Seeds - Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Holland.

2nd Seeds - Italy, Germany, England, Czech Republic.

3rd Seeds - Portugal, Sweden, Croatia, Romania.

4th Seeds - Poland, Turkey, Spain, France.

 

Thast could all change after tomorrow but Holland, England, Portugal, France is a possibility.

 

Personally I'm hoping for Austria, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland

Like you I think we were lucky to get away with that penalty shout. Had the ball not been going away from goal, Ricardo the keeper with his back to the player at the time of impact and the Armenian player not making a spectacular performance with the arched back and everything, I think it would have been given!

 

Scolari is putting out some very young sides at the moment and although the future looks bright in terms of the youth, we really should concentrate on getting the result with more experienced players I think.

 

Finland I believe will be a tough one to crack if we don't score early but home advantage might help us!

Didn't help the Dutch as they are still the token top seed and effectively become dangerous floaters in the draw.

 

Hopefully given the seedings it will work out thus

 

Group A - Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey

Group B - Austria, Sweden, Romania, Poland

Group C - Greece, Croatia, Spain, Russia

Group D - Holland, Italy, Germany, France
