So we know who at least 23 of the MyFC members are

In his new role as coach (as I understand it), Liam is obliged to provide reports on the form, fitness etc. of the players, suggest tactics and other information for the famous 20,000 to choose the side, formation and so on. This will be invaluable information for the 23 managers of the other Blue Square Premier sides who for a modest £35 will receive this on a weekly basis. Any suggestions on how Liam gets round this?

Having had the exact same thoughts, I'm not to worried about that aspect..

As an "investor" I'm not under the impression that what I have to say about the team and tactics, will have that big an impact on the actual line-up and player-to-player tactics.

As would I expect that nobody else is under the impression that the line-up has ever been kept a secret before the (possible) MyFc "takeover".

What's said in the lockerroom will never be posted on MyFc, and never can be. So the EUFC players approach to each match, will still be a "secret", but the line-up won't and probably never has been... wink

This has been discussed at length on the MyFC forum.

I think this is one of the processes that will evolve over time. I would expect (and this is my opinion) that in the initial stages while Daish continues to pick the team, he will go through all the processes of reporting as he would be expected to do and the MyFC membership would carry out a consultative vote. This would allow MyFC an opportunity to work out any kinks in the system. Daish would also have an opportunity to come back after the game and give his thoughts on the why he picked the team the way he did and, if there was differences between his chioce and that of MyFC members, he could outline his views on the differences. This would allow MyFC memebrs an opportunity and an insight to see how the 'head coach' went about doing his job and would facilitate a better understanding between both.

Axtually Hirsty he admitted it to the club, the wrongful dismissal idea came from one of our Medway correspondents who couldn't actually get a handle on what happened.

This is naive in the extreme. theres 20000, plus members all whom openly support other clubs. If I was an owner/manager of a fellow conference club I would be making sure that I knew a few of those 20000, and that certainly my scout had a good handle.

Its common knowledge that managers put out a few misleading quotes, our very own Andy Ford was a master, as to not give away details of fit/unfit players or tactics for upcoming games.

Its part and parcel of the mind games, whilst it would seem that the actual 11 and formation will only be released before KO, it will be fairly obvious I would imagine from liams notes to tell exactly what decision he will want you to make.

so it wont be rocket science to know what our team and tactics are well in advance and plan accordingly.

There is an awful lot of waffle about tactics and planning in a game.

A guy called Johnny Giles, a master of a footballer from the Leeds team in the 1970's, who was very successful managing WBA and Ireland, constantly says 'you pick the best players in their best positions and let them get on with it'. He had a reputation as a manager of never making a substitution unless a player was injured.

My philosophy when it comes to picking the team.

Dom, you make it seem so simple. Are you sure you are not Team Coach Designate when Daish leaves? In fact give him his P45 now because you also have better computer skills than Daish.

If you had said Brian Clough, it might have held more credence. But he used motivational skills and dominance over all aspects of the club as a tool. Couldn't see him waiting for someone to pick the team for him.

anyway sorry to be pedantic, but wasn't only one sub allowed anyway in Giles day, and thus tactical changes were not the norm until late in game.

Theres not been many games since you've been on here yet, but one of the criticism from the terraces is that when our initial plan is not working, we are too slow in making changes.

Hopefully once you have seen us a few times, you will see what teams some of our players tend to do better against than others. As there are some varying types of football played at this level.

I do not think this is as much of an issue at our level. Hell we have not got a squad the size of a Chelsea or a Man Utd!! Any other manager in this division worth his salts would have a good idea about his opposition each week!

One thing that MyFC needs to decide; is it a director or a manager?

A director would set admission prices, season ticket prices, merchandise prices, special offers, transfer budgets and so on.

A manager picks the team and tactics on a Saturday afternoon.

I think they need to pick a role either Director or Manager. Not both!
