Not sure who you mean by 'their' Steve.
Just looked at the EUFC attendances this season...looks like those cold and windy Tuesday nights have already been taking their toll. smile

Hope your 'smugness' disappears when/if the MyFC renewals suffer the expected apathy after year 1... So easy to 'say' you are a fan, a bit more effort involved in turning up at a game!

Didn't mean to come over as smug just having a go at Steve's shot at the 'parasites'....sure the novelty factor will come into play BUT I predict that EUFC's future successes will attract even more MFC members and locals to more than make up for the Novelty drop offs.

By the way is anyone prepared to predict a score v Stafford Rangers?

Even parasites need to talk about the actual football!!

Any value in the prices below.

Bet365 has EUFC 4/7, SR 11/2 and Draw 11/4.

EUFC by 3+ goals 2/1 and EUFC by 4+ at 13/2.

EUFC to win both halves 11/4

Debolla to score 2+ 5/1....3 Goals 20/1

I see EUFC lost both games to Stafford Rangers last year...are they traditionally close games?

Current form (and the Bookies) suggests a comfortable win for The Fleet.

One away win for SR and six Home wins for EUFC says they are right.

A couple of recent 5 goal losses doesn't look good for SR but they don't appear to have been disgraced in alot of their games.

A 3-1 away win over Weymouth stands up okay aginst The Fleet's 2-0 loss away to the same team.

Fearless prediction...Fleet 3 Stafford Rangers 0

A huge amount then does depend on this 'future success'. If, and its very possible, Fleet have no success this year or next I just can't see 23,000 plus members willingly stumping up the cash.
You can almost guarantee calls for a new club to be sponsored!

Not sure that would be the case.

Most things I've read on the MFC Forum suggest a 'long haul' approach.

I've never seen the powers that be guarantee overnight success.

Would think that most subscribers would have had enough experience with the sport(or any sport)to be smart enough not to expect instant success.

As far as calling for a new club is concerned:

1) I'm confident (once again given the tone of posts I've read on the MFC Forum)that the great majority would vote such a call down and:

2) What other club would touch MFC if they were to bail out on EUFC...none I hope.

Mick - surely you recall posting that fans are fickle!!

The majority of MyFC members have no real connection to Fleet other than via their wallets - if they dont see success, and their own votes (team selection / manager position) are not implemented, they will be off as fast as their Direct Debit will take them!

They aren't being very generous with the odds on Debolla, even if he still played for us 20/1 for a hattrick is pitiful.

Debolla scoring more than 2 goals may not be such a good bet he was transferred a few weeks ago.

Patman,

Fickle...yes.

Panic at the drop of a hat ...no.

Fickle doesnt mean abandon...more of a fluctuating phenomenon based on the fortunes and misfortunes of the team.

Too late over here to be playing semantics.

Gotta get up early and vote out the rsoles that have been running(sorry..ruining)Australia since 1996.

I left the country for a year and look what happened!

Where did Debolla go?

Liam didn't tell me.......only kidding!

Still don't see any score predictions.

C'mon you blokes, havago!

Mick - we'll agree to differ!

We both know there will be some who are here for the long term, some who will bail out as soon as no success, some will drop out when they realise their votes dont really matter, and there are some who want to leave already cos its not a Northern team/not 'their' team/not a league team etc!

I'll put my money where my mouth is.

Should MFC go rsup I'll stay on board via the Fleet Trust for the next 25 years.

I'll be 79 by then and given my current disregard for my health and having eaten from aluminium saucepans as a child...I'll either be dead or suffering from Alzheimers and won't even know where I am let alone Stonebridge Road.

Mick, in answer to your question I cant see any value in the prices quoted. In this league just about any team on its day is capable of beating any other team but I expect us to win. In the corresponding fixture last season for example, I think both teams were in fairly similar positions in the league as we are today and they came to Stonebridge Road and thumped us 4 - 0 (we were terrible).

I occasionally have a small bet but only when we are at home. I back the opposition if I think they have a chance of beating us and the odds look ok. Last 2 home games for example the opposition were both decent teams, Exeter and FGR and both were a little over 2/1 to win (Betfair), we had a few out injured so they both looked worth a bet. I'm not a gambler I only punt a few quid, its more like pet insurance really. if we win (or draw to a lesser degree) its great and I couldn't care less about losing the money, If we lose then I have some small compensation for my afternoon out and the cat is marginally safer.

You might want to check out the prediction league as a source of potential guidance.

If anything there is a bit of value in the home win - i have the prices as:
EUFC 4/9, draw 5/2, SR 6/1
Cant see any value in any of the other bets you mention.

Score forecast would be 2-1

Just as an update -

12,687 have voted on whether they will attend tomorrow' game against Stafford Rangers (about half the membership)

269 say they will definitely attend.

975 say they might attend.

I would be hoeful that at least 500 will attend as some people will probably take friends that aren't members of MyFC (indeed several people have indicated that they will be doing this).

Here's hoping there will be a good turnout from MyFc members at the game.

In other words - about 1% of MyFC members will turn up so!!

TBH - am sure that would be a great result week after week.
