Where were you?

With acres & acres of media coverage, you would have expected a large turnout of the 20,000 members of the now famous MyFc at Conference glamour club Oxford United.

What happened?

Well without wanting to p*ss off the local Fleet faithful, Ryman Premier Maidstone United took nearly twice as many away today than the Fleet, whereas the mighty MyFc were outnumbered by journalists

I think MyFc should be banned from picking the team until you turn up in sufficient numbers to appraise the team. As I read somewhere, you can't criticise players or manager unless you attend the game. And rightly so.

I really would have like to have just posted this on the MyFc Forum, but don't have a login, perhaps a MyFc member could do it for me - file under football banta

Classic.

Today was brought me round to all this.

The club is onto a winner I think.

The people at the ground who weren't Fleet fans in the true sense of the word stood out like a sore thumb.

They looked like they didn't enjoy it.

It wasn't enjoyable and it was cold but given our record against Oxford, it wasn't unsurprising.

About the only thing this week that hasn't been.

Got an affectionate spot for my "homeless" home town club, I thought you would be more gracious now you have huge amounts of filthy lucre.

I was at the Kazzam for Play-Off Semi 10,000+ crowd, 1,000 Grecians going absolutely mental, that was an away day. Keeps you warm on November when you've been stuffed 1-4 at home by Burton

Do you think they are all going to ban themselves from picking the team do you? Next home game, you will have a higher than avaeage attendance

To be slightly picky, no we wont... its a Kent Senior Cup game on Tuesday. Attending Stonebridge Road on a cold Tuesday evening to watch what is likely to be a mixture of youth team players and those that are on the fringe of the first team is one usually for only the truly faithful. How is the poll on the MyFC site going re the likely additonal attendance against Stafford on Saturday going ?

Ok...I will come out...I have signed up to MFC...but only recently since I saw it on the BBC.

It says that 228 people are deffintely going. And that 879 might go.

Only about half the members have voted though. I reckon for the game on the 24th you will have about 500 extra to be honest

Not to appear superior, but I never rated one game more important than another, If the Fleet were playing(and I wasn't working), I was there. I fully understand that some peoples finances doesn't make it possible for them to attend every game. But to not turn up because It is not important, totally bemuses me!

And what about in the rain in Feb? And March, April?

Ya see, football isn't about turning up once a season (TO BE SEEN) its about going week in, week out, when the team is good or bad

IF MyFC members are still turning up in significant numbers next season - the 'experiment' will have worked out well for everyone... Lets not be to hasty - an extra 200 - 500 for the first home league game will prove nothing!

I suspect that one or two locals who are neither Fleet fans nor MyFC members might turn up to see what all the fuss is about so we might get a decent kick to the gate.

Its a shame we can't bump the ticket price to £18:00 as a one off whistle
Obviously we would need to offer a £5:00 discount to Stafford fans I certainly wouldn't advocate fleecing them.

The away figure quoted at Oxford was given as 196 , did people who went think there were more there than that ?

I think its fair to say that atleast 70 myfc members went.

Some didnt go as they were a little unsure of the reception that they might get from the regular Ebbsfleet Fans. Others I think didnt make it due to the short timescale as things only kicked off on Tuesday.

I know some are going on Tuesday and more on Saturday.

It's quite funny reading some comments on the myfc site saying that figure couldn't be right and if it was correct then it was safe to say that it was mainly myfc members making the numbers up.

Couldn't agree more, PatMan. I'm an international member of MyFC, so I'm not in a position to say anything to members who decide not to attend, but I'll be sorely disappointed if we don't consistently increase attendance, both home and away, but especially at home.

Still waiting for that job offer in Kent so I can move there and buy season tickets...
