The team today - individual performances

SCS Good with his hands & generally did okay but he has to curb his tendancies to be rash at times. That attempted kick could have cost us a goal. Not looking as safe all round as last season but on the whole did good.

LOUIS SMITH No,he's not a favourite of mine but my summing up of him is made because of his woeful form & not because of my desires to see our weakest link dropped from the team. No more excuses,he has played in that position for a while now & should by now know whats required of him.If Jacko can do it out of position then surely a youngster like him can. Short of pace, caught flat footed & the wrong side of the pace man all too often.Play him again & we will continue to lose games.

TROTTY Unfortunate I thought with the o.g. Did okay today but his lack of pace also is a worry though to be honest that didnt show him up to much today.

DAN YOUNG Not so hot today I thought but overall did okay.

STEVE McKIMM Improved from the last game & will get better from now on with his fitness improving.

JIMMY JACKSON Consistent & hard working.Plays any position required to with the utmost simplicity.

JAY SAUNDERS How consistent is this man? Gets involved all over the park & does it in style.A rash late tackle on the odd occasion but generally played super. Two great headed goals

RYAN PETERS Took on players playing a different role for us,more forward & did well. Just one criticism today.Took one too many touches at times & the chance to shoot & score went a- begging.

ROB HAWORTH As usual runs himself into the ground & scored a fine headed goal also.Never gives up.Played well again.A credit to himself.

JAMES PINNOCK Played a better game today. Just needs to brush up on his "first touch". Lets him down a lot.

RYAN MARTIN An excellent debut. Ran at players, cool step-overs & skill on the ball. His final ball into the middle was lacking at times but on other occasions put in some well drilled passes.Played the easy ball well but more importantly the way he put himself into those positions to cross was superb. He will do good for us. Young, speedy & clever.
