Robin Trott

The time has come to say what I feel on here. He is unable to bring in a defender. Who is at fault here? The board for not making travel expenses available to prospective signings, or Trott for having a lack of contacts within the game to acquire a player to strengthen our awful defence?

If the board are doing everything in their power to support RT in freeing up the cash to secure new signings, including agreeing to pay travelling expenses, then I think RT is seriously treading a fine line. Because we can't just keep waiting for new recruits. The defence is so poor it has become a laughing stock for opponents, and is costing us game after game. Who wants to be embarrassed by our poor defence on Boxing Day if RT has still not secured any signings? We beat a very poor Harrow side, and a very very poor Leyton side, but both times we made very heavy work of it, and were thankful for some wasteful finishing from our opponents. Today, we lost to a poor Maidstone side. The strikers, and Peters, Saunders and Martin all performed well, but the rest were found wanting again.

As far as I'm concerned, with the current setup we won't be getting promoted at the end of the season, so making a change now would give the new man time to make his mark, assess the squad and line up new faces for the summer. As well as that, if he has the contacts in the game to bring in new defenders immediately I believe we have the squad here to challenge for the playoffs this season if he can get them playing to their ability.

I think we should be looking for a new manager who can bring the best out of the players here, while bringing in two or three new faces at the back. If RT has the resources available to him, this sort of wait for a proper defence is unacceptable. He's gone into the season a centre back light. Okay, he's been unfortunate with Harte but he's had more than a month to bring in a proper right back by now.

My patience has also worn threadbare too now Porka. The defence has needed sorting for ages now and has cost us time and time again. We yet again have seen early exits from the major cup competitions losing to teams from lower leagues and have subsequently lost out on the revenue so badly needed which might have strenghtened our defence. Our league form is average at best and we seem to be going nowhere. Nothing personal against Robin he seems a decent enough bloke but I believe he has reached his "peak" with us I feel it is time for a change of manager who can take us on to the next level.

Porka, I think what you have said has summed it up well. We have good players who stand out in what is overall an average sdquad. Each week we see the likes of Haworth, Saunders, Pinnock, Peters, Jackson, Skinner, Side giving 100% for the team. The others are no more than average and would struggle in the lower leagues in my opinion, with the exception of Chalmers-Stevens who seems to have lost his confidence, no wonder with no defence in front of him each week. McKIMM is not the same player he was last season and i wonder if being player coach is effecting his own game! Standen on his day can be an assest however he has a very short fuze which is making him a liability with such a small squad.

As for the travelling expenses to clarify the rumour i heard was that the two Ebbsfleet players we had earlier in the season who were on season long loans were apparently only recalled by Ebbsfleet because MFC renagaded on an agreement to pay their travelling expenses which i heard was approx £30 per week with Ebbsfleet paying the wages.

Trott had his chance last season to win promotion but due to the total indiscipline within the team especially by some of the senior players the the team blew it. We are now a third of the way through this season and the same senior players are still showing a total lack of discipline. Are they still paid whilst suspended? If so then what discipline code has RT and the club got in place to try and prevent the far to regular red cards we seem to get?

I think it is about time that RT either hung up his boots as promised and concentrate on managing the club or left all together allowing somebody with more contacts to come in. If the side carry on like they are then we will be in danager of facing a relegation battle come the end of the season.

Todays performance was a disgrace 3-1 up Maidstone started to apply pressure and it was obvious that some of our players were struggling for fitness especially Smith who was getting beaten every time. Yet when the Stones put on 3 pairs of fresh legs we still made no substitutions. If RT has no confidence in the subs he had named then why bother keeping them at the club? As for SCS today was just one calamity after another and i am sure he cant be that bad again.

Come on you directors lets get this sorted out before it is too late. RT and you have asked where have all the fans gone, well if you cant see it then it is about time you opened your eyes, we are all fed up of paying out our entrance fees to constantly watch rubbish and poor performances against average sides. It is only the small number of die hard fans that still turn up week in week out no matter what but if you are not careful then even they may start to stay away.

the fans are slowly hanging up there boots before the players Cookie , thats not right , will admit ive given up for now but i will come back as you no and ive spoken to some more who are saying there not to bothered about the situation anymore . I don`t think the likes of the surporters will leave the club to rot on its own but alot of them need a break from what they are seeing each week . Sometimes i think we are trying to be top dog still but we are not anymore , we had success for a 2-3 seasons and the club is still living off that but these small , tiny whatever you want to call them clubs that aint got no money to rub together have no surport at all but they are gathering there teams together as one unit that have belief in themselves that they can have that never say never attitude , we don`t have that apart from the few named players but thats not enough .

Im affraid to say this but what we had here is now on the other side of the isle , they have no surport not much money a crap ground but they have a togtherness with there team all the way through to there ressies and if ones not fit they fill that gap and make things look easy . Thats not going on at Hartsdown anymore and its sad because there was something special there once .

As Porka states in his post, why has it taken a month to get a replacement for Harte.

Accepting it may be harder finding a quality central defender (though he has had since April) but surely its not to difficult to get a semi-decent right back on a loan whilst he seeks a permanent replacement for Harte. ( A month and minimally 4 points blown in the process of delay )

Its his job to do that surely. In the commercial world, you would not get away with being so slow to get things sorted.

I wonder if RT would react so slowly/inefficiently to an urgent matter in his own business.

He does not need sacking-no point and too costly-he desperately and obviously needs help from someone with more experience, time and contacts.

Agree with all off the above, I came yesterday but only because I had nothing to do, the last few games before that I haven't bothered to come because its so poor

On attendances this is 2-5 down (depends who comes with me)

On a positive we are doing okay in the league, if we can be in this position and playing badly could we give it all for the last part of the season and hit the play off ??

I know I moan about the catering units, but this is down to just the coffee and tea out let by the old club shop being closed down. so now everyone who just wants a cuppa has to join the other queues

I want success, but am willing to wait for it as long as I get to watch entertaining footy

But Pagey-does'nt therefore RT serve up exactly what you want.

It appears to be very entertaining every week (some say comedy entertainment).

Only problem is-its rarely winning or indeed semi-professional entertainment.

At my age, i cannot not take the stress of so regularly snatching an entertaining defeat from the jaws of an accomplished victory

Personally, i believe every week every single player give it their absolute best and commitment.

The on field organisation combined with lack of fundamental ability in 2 key positions on field, and one key off field kills it for the rest.

I have no doubt everyone is committed to the cause-but it needs a bit more than that
