3-4 another disaster - Board to blame?

Surely it is basic economics.

Graeme, people ARE supporting the club.I know there's more to it than just going through the turnstyles & it would be nice to see people turning up at events. But who can blame some who see regular money being raised for the club but then see no improvement in 90 minutes from that, but for starters those people that turn up ARE doing their bit.
Now,yesterday we must have seen a few more turn up than was the week before.Great & even greater at 3-1,looking positive & playing well,THEN,capitulation! All was going so well & future higher gates were on the cards. Just 15 minutes of immature defending undone all of the previous 75 minutes good work.
Will some those come back next time? I doubt it!
Its down to the team to perform first & foremost as they did for three-quarters of the match yesterday to get more people coming to watch. Its down to the performances that gates are dropping. It was a game that in truth was ours for the taking. Get it right on the pitch first then turn the blame onto the supporters, not the other way round.

I totally agree Cookie.

It seems that alot of good work being done off the pitch is being undone by amateur performances on the pitch.

The truism of reduced budget annoys me when you have a manager who then spends the vast majority of the budget on signing so many forwards of similarish styles, after releasing defenders.

Most of us can take defeat, and indeed most of us probably accept that this was unlikely to be a play off season; but it does get tougher every year (Dover to contend with next season),and to see a defence seemingly getting worse match by match with the same personnel involved since August is pretty disheartening to many.

Had Trott sorted it back in the summer,(that is his job ) the chances are we would have progressed in two more cup rounds-got more money,100 more customers per home game-got more money.

I also find Trott's 'talking the talk' but consistent failure to 'walk the walk' pretty irritating and off putting.

Its mainly distance that keeps me away, but i can't help but wonder whether the same old rhetoric- smash 'em and 'i'm looking ' gets sufficiently under the skin of a few people to keep them away.(when you are young you follow the players-as you get older, you take more notice of the manager.

The situation with the defence has been so obvious for so long, that you almost wonder if RT is being deliberately obstinate and when trust goes, thats when you have a really major problem

I still want him to stay as manager though-he has done some good things/made some good signings-and hope that somewhere out there, someone can help him because he is obviously struggling at the moment, and we've all been there;and its not nice.

I'd love to see him turn it around, but he seems to keep self-sabotaging and you can only take so much.

I think it was a big mistake to let Mike Flanagan go this season. He was a permanant fixture on the bench to sort things out. With injuries this season we have sometimes had nobody on the sideline running things. I have never been a fan of player managers as there are too many distractions for them, and when we have had them in the past it has been a disaster, but if we must have one lets also have someone who can run things without playing. Its either that or Trott doesn't play.

I agree with a lot of what you say Tony. I like you was furious with the way we threw victory away last Saturday but, Battles are never won by leaving the field in the face of adversity. I still maintain, This is the wrong time to walk away when so many other things are coming together. We need a fit, head screwed on Skinner and again a head screwed on Dean Standen plus that solid half back and we are a match for any one. In answer to someones question about do the Club fine the players their wages if they are sent off?, Yes they do.

I agree Tony. I find people very fickle on here. Yes we ALL get frustrated and there are some valid and good points made on this forum. But I have to say some people post the most ridiculous statements, without knowing any truth or reason. I know we all have our opinions and I respect them, but please some people need to get there facts right first.
