ASHFORD V BTFC Scores

Recommended Posts

I think it's fairly pointless looking at this result in isolation, one bloke brought in who's trained with us once, another couple picked up from a bus stop and a good number of the others clearly not fit and/or playing out of position.

However, this type of performance is not a surprise to me, as it's been happening week after week after week. For some bizzarre reason we continue to select players who have failed to perform week after week after week. Get rid of them for [****!!****] sake, contracted or not. If we have players who are unable to maintain the fitness required to be available for selection most of the time, then get rid of them too. We cannot afford to carry passengers.

We are in a difficult situation at the moment, make no bones about that, bottom three, having just been hammered by a team that most feel will be relegation candidates at the end of the season.

We need to start making some proper decisions and get rid of those players who are failing us so badly, whoever they are and whatever their apparent standing. If that means only being able to bring in young players from a lower level so be it. At least that type of player will try for you.

I am properly [****!!****] off with it right now. GRRRRRRRR.

IMO we haven't been good enough all season. We've given the odd performance here and there but nothing to suggest or back up the claims that we're good enough for promotion. Squad size has been shocking from the start.

We may have had 9 midfielders yesterday, only one is truly class/good enough, and he started at centre half, the rest are nothing more than average at best. League tables don't lie, we're currently 3rd from bottom for a reason.

It's good to talk about something else!

Funny that 'cos I did mention that I thought I'd fallen through a hole in time on Saturday and found myself in the 2001 / 2002 season...

But seriously what could we expect from Saturday when we had three players who hadn't kicked a ball in anger with the team prior to the game?

Anyway, last Saturday's game acted as a major wake up call and I will agree with Rick on his previous post, it isn't all over yet. We can still do it if our problems are sorted out and soon.
