The most foul and abusive fans I have the displeasure to have met in Non-League football. I would rather have a drink with Chelmsford and AFC Wimbledon fans any day.

Apologies for the swearing! I was getting a fair bit of abuse all game but it came to a head when a few of their fans crowded the box blocking my view of the game. When they equalised they started banging on the box. My favourite line from their fans to me was 'take that you c***. come on if you want it.

Exactly what I had done to them I am unsure of.

I just wished the commentary had recorded because I would have loved to hear it back!

well done Steve for keeping your cool and walking away from a possible nasty situation . Did the club have any stewards there to pull any of the Stones fans away from your commentary box . This should have happened as soon as you stopped your broadcast .

As soon as anyone was made aware there were two stewards placed there so they did do everything they could.

It is a shame as there were possibly some of their own fans listening as well.

your own safty comes 1st , if they want to cause trouble then they will thats all they no they don`t care about there own .

In addition, when a steward spotted a fan abuse me after the final whistle, although the bloke nipped away the steward instantly reported it and Colin Page came to me asking if he was still in the ground and with an apology from Maidstones chairman.

Just a pity that there was no interview with RT post todays game to hear his thoughts on the game.
