Bad news from Up t'North

Recommended Posts

It's official! Unless Huddersfield Town have a viable financial rescue package in place in 8 days our famous club will fall into liquidation and cease to exist!

This news comes as the current club chairman and a former director are searching for financial backers. Unfortunately these two estranged individuals appear not to be co-operating with each other in our greatest hour of need.

It seems the past two years of infighting and the subsequent decline on and off the field are finally drawing to a nasty conclusion.

As you can imagine our fans are distraught! Sad, sad times indeed!

Sorry to read about your plight. Presumably the club will go into Receivership first, but if not I would imagine that whoever is appointed Liquidator will seek a buyer. Other clubs in similar circumstances have been allowed to continue to trade while this process takes place. Is there a possibility of a supporters Trust as in the case of Bournemouth? Good luck and many thanks for your continued interest in our small club.

Thanks everyone for your concern!

David Taylor, the club chairman is on record as saying, he won't sell to anyone other than a genuine Terriers fan. Unless this is the come-on to the likes of Patrick Stewart of Star Trek fame (a life long fan) I'm not sure, but I reckon this narrows the possibilities down somewhat.

It really is a sticky horrible mess we're in. A supporters trust is fine but an unlikely option when debts of £6million, plus £1million in unpaid players wages, need to be wiped off. Technically we have no assets either. The McApline is jointly owned by the Kirklees Stadium Company, the players are free agents (having not been paid) and the Club Shop went bust. We don't even receive income form Bars or Catering at the ground. The only thing that brings money in, is the entrance fee on match days and even that is limited because out our average gate of 9,600, 7,990 are season ticket holds (money already spent?).

It truely is a sorry, sorry state of affairs. As a result of this our home game with Mansfield. acrucial relegation battle (as if it matters) could be our last - ever!

As has been said before, you feel so powerless.

With such huge debts it does seem a very sad state of affairs. Only bit of silver lining to this cloud, Gills were in a bad way not so long ago. Sometimes things do happen to get you back on track.

Best of Luck for Saturday.

My (other) team have been through it BB. Its not nice, but am hoping Huddersfield manage to sort themselves out, and sooner the better. We too had huge debts, we have had to off-load players at contracts end to reduce wage bill, sell our training ground, mortgage our the home ground, suffer the horrors of administration etc. etc....but, although the light at the end of the tunnel is still a long way off, it's starting to be a little less dim......hope you get through it, good luck from everyone, especially those who have had the pleasure of playing you.

My beloved Football Club Huddersfield Town is today on it's knees!

In a unique piece of football history the clubs players, acting as major creditors, have forced the the club into administration, on the advice of the PFA. Despite this, the players, who have not been paid in full since November. will turn out for the club tomorrow against Bristol City.

Hundreds of thousand of pounds are needed to pay for the administration process and last night, fans formed a Supporters Trust to start in the battle for survival.

WE the fans are the real Huddersfield Town NOT the football company that has conspired to mis-manage our financial affairs. AND WE WILL rise again!

Thanks to every at Gravesend & Northfleet for your concern and kind wishes!

Cooooome on Yoooooou Fleeeeeeeeet!
