I noticed last night you also posted a question concerning the future board. I remembered reading something in the rules, this is what I found

"the Operator is appointed as an exclusive agent of the Society in connection with (amongst other things):
negotiate the terms and purchase of a controlling stake in a football club (including, but not limited to, the appointment of the board of the initial management board of the Club (which may include a person employed by the Operator), and the staff who have day to day control over the affairs at the club, including the terms of any employment contracts or other contracts entered into at the time of the acquisition of the shares in the club)"

the 7th object of the society is: "to encourage and promote the principle of supporter representation on the board of any company owning or controlling the Club and to be the vehicle for democratic elections to the board."

Apart from one addition, the board remain the same, and following the 7th Object of the society, I suppose they will remain so until they are up for election (by MFC Society members)at the next AGM.

I hope that helps.

My apologies - although at the time I did think that you were a Fleet fan. But that's was hours ago - I didn't know any better. giveup

No problem. I thought it would be obvious which team I support from my signature, but I guess that doesn't count for much in MyFC Space - you can change your team at the drop of a hat...

If you're implying that one of the Americans might be myself, I'll take that bet. How about a couple years' salary? More? Life savings? Didn't think so. So much easier to fling unfounded accusations than actually say anything remotely accurate or constructive.

John, you're quoting what I was quoting a day or two ago and it doesn't seem to be the actual name if the Provident Society. The MyFCTrust was an early draft name, I think. The technical name is MyFootballClub Society Ltd. I had to wade through the terms and conditions again to see the actual names. I've emailed the MyFC staff to see if they'll fix the terms on the website.

If you read my reply in that thread - you will see that I haven't changed any team alliances - either at the drop of a hat or otherwise. However, I do have more than one team I follow smile I do tend to ignore people's sigs, though, as I learned a long time ago that most sigs aren't worth reading. That is years of discussion forum experience - nothing to do with MyFC.

It is a bit of a shame to see you resorting to little digs like that - most of your comments have been well thought out and of value smile

I know my attitude is difficult for you die-hard supporters of a single team to understand - but I don't hold that against you smile Indeed, in some ways, I am envious of people who have a clear home town and a clear set of alleigences based on that smile

I however have moved around the country, and have no local allegience. I still look out for Wycombe Wanderers scores (I lived close when I was a child) Watford (I went to a lot of their matches) West Ham (I have been supporting them for years) Basingstoke (I watched matches there for a couple of years) MK Dons (I watched matches there for a couple of years too). Any of them gets a good result, it makes me feel good.

Cricket - I follow Hampshire, I suspect because the the couple of county games I have ever seen were at the United Services ground in Portsmouth. Interestingly - I went to Portsmouth home games for a while, but (for some reason I don't understand) never really felt any affection for them as a team.

I am one of those sad gits that supports all the English teams in Europe - I don't really care if its Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal - or anyone else. In Europe they get my support. If there are no English clubs I will support Celtic or Rangers. We even went to support Rhyll in the European cup qualifiers a couple of years ago, just because we were in the area at the time.

For me - it is fairly easy to add a new allegiance, without dropping any of the others. But you will note that those allegiences stay with me. Wycombe, Watford and West Ham have been with me for the best part of 40 years ...

D'oh. That is a silly name they picked - although as you can see from this link - it is not a limited company it is an Industrial and Provident, operating under the same regulations as the trusts, just as I was saying.
