Can Will Brooks be kicked out?

To be honest, I am a little concerned about this mysterious figure who effectively controls MyFC. The MyFC spin says he will just have a single vote and be no more powerful than any other member, but the reality is already clearly very different. Who is it issuing all these communiques on the MyFC website telling us members how we should and shouldn't behave? If it's a true democracy where Will Brooks is no more important than I am, what the hell gives him or his web admin secret police the right to tell the other members how they can and can't behave. Let's test how truly democratic MyFC really is. When they introduce the voting systems, the first vote I will call for is a vote to kick Will Brooks out of MyFC. I hope any other MyFC members who share my concerns, particularly any G&N supporters who have joined in recent days, back this call for a vote. Let's see if they even hold the vote let alone act on it if and when it is overwhelmingly carried.

Hang on. Aren't you the guy who was giving it large about your overriding concern being to vote against Ebbsfleet United being MyFC's chosen club, one reason being that you are a Charlton fan?

You are being talked about very unflatteringly on the MyFC forum because of the way you have been annoying fans on here. Many doubt you have genuinely signed up to MyFC & are just a pathological stirrer. Why not post your MyFC user name on here. If it is genuine, it can be verified on the site, then people on both forums will know for certain just what your angle is.

clowntown - I think that the idea of voting has gone to your head tbh. If you are that concerned then there a route for you - and I don't think it's in the upwards direction. The "secret admin police" - what books have you been reading? Enjoy what this whole process is - football fans who are feed up with far flung owners buying up clubs and stripping all the assets of a club and leaving them stacked with debts. This is in my opinion a chance for a lower league club to get some money and publicity and try and do a little better and gain more fans. All you have paid is £35 quid - not a small sum granted but to start a revolution and kick out the originator - do me a favour and do one!

clowntown - I am naively oprimistic.

If Mr B turned out to a shadowy figure with ulterior motives he would garner such negative publicity that membership of MyFC would drop dramatically.

I hope he is like you and I, a fan of football, and I hope that your concerns are unfounded.

I am not a 'bod' from MyFC, by the way

To be honest as the days pass I'm feeling more and more creeped out by some of my fellow MyFCers. While I have no doubt that many/most of those who have joined have the best intentions, as always happens with something internet forum-based a small clique is developing of people who parrot the views of the MyFC rulers and turn on anyone who gets out of line. People with alternative views who air them are swiftly shouted down and/or silenced, leaving everyone else too scared to voice any view outside of the clique's own. It is highly likely this clique will be able to influence the outcome of each and every vote, another jab in the eye for the view that this could ever be truly democratic.

Some of the things that have particularly creeped me out.

1. This communique issued by the MyFC leaders two weeks ago: "Every MyFC member will have a PR job to do. Clearly there are ways to go about it. For example, turning up to their ground in your MyFC top might not be the best move. Nor will 1000 messages from MyFC members on their website’s forum go down too well. Less PR offensive, more PR inoffensive will be the key." In other words, the rulers want to spin everything, the forum admin secret police acting like political party whips to make sure we all espouse the exact same view and don't say anything THEY might not agree with.

2. Members on the MyFC forums using 'we'/'us' when they refer to G&N, a club they have previously had no connection to (and still don't, until due dilligence and a vote that isn't the formality Brooks seems to think it is). Every time I see a post like "Jari Litmanen wouldn't come to us" I cringe. OK, many posters have the good grace to say G&N/Ebbsfleet rather than we/us (as I do) but the number that don't frightens me.

3. The theory that's MyFC is a cult may not be too far wide of the mark. 10-15% of active MyFC forum users currently have the Ebbsfleet United badge as their avatar. At first I thought they were G&N fans who had joined in recent days, but on reading their posts I realised that no, these are 'ordinary' MyFC members, already seemingly having more affinity with your club than their own (like the Welling United supporting MyFCer who said on here he was going to start going to your games instead now). Why? Why all immediately adopt the badge like it was some symbol of faith. It's like a born again Christian always wearing their cross, a Scientologist always wearing whatever they wear... it really is quite cultish!

4. Yes, the poster above wasn't lying. There actually is a whole thread about me on the MyFC forums. People debating whether or not I should have my MyFC membership revoked for daring to question the motives of Comrade Brooks. For an organisation that tries to project itself as all lovey-dovey, democractic and open to all, each day MyFC is looking more and more like its rulers have been taking tips from the Government of North Korea. How long till a 50 foot high bronze bust of Comrade Brooks has pride of place outside the G&N club house?

What the hell have I joined?

Are you sure? What I read earlier today was people regretting that another lunatic was loose on this forum, claiming to be a MyFC member & seriously winding people up. You are the guy whose 1st post on here said Ebbsfleet should be dumped because the fans don't want it & that it could lead to too big a club on the doorstep of Charlton, his original club.

Is there going to be some sort of rota to get a place or is it first come first served?

That wasn't my first post, it was about my 20th. I have been on here since the announcement. Yes, as I stated I will be voting no to G&N being the club taken over due to the G&N supporters' opposition, my self interest as a Charlton fan and the fact that I want to see more options (we were originally promised a choice of several clubs, the G&N takeover is now seemingly being offered as a fait accompli).

What I find bizarre - apart from you describing Charlton as my "original club" (wtf? is every member of MyFC supposed to ditch the club they've supported all their lives and start supporting G&N from now on then? are people really that fickle/sad?) - is that I am described as a "lunatic" because I happen to disagree with the MyFC 'party line'. Lunatic means mentally ill, so the MyFC rulers are effectively say any member who has a different view to them is clearly mentally ill. And this is supposed to be a democratic organisation? Don't make me laugh!

Here, incidentally, is what other MyFC members are being told to think about me (because I am capable of independent thought), all taken from the thread about me on the MyFC forums:

"surely if this [****!!****] is a member of myfc then his position as a member should no longer be able to continue seeing as he is just intent annoying as many people as possible" mrging

"We must make a forum for them who members and fan are in contact. So we can avoid such stupid guys who pretends being members. I think he's a Fleet fan who want to give us a bad reputation. If he's a member that would be suicide." Lord Hreo

"I have read some of clowntowns post and to be quite frank they make me cringe. If he is a member, he is not helping us." Steven

"That is a problem, even nutters can afford £35." Kingy

"An alternative rule is that a 'stupid' poster gets a three strikes and you're out rule. So if you post something that is insulting you get a warning, three warnings and your membership is revoked. I'd be interested what rules MyFC has in place to handle 'nutters' (there official title it seems)." nickweaver

"The problem is that if people like this clowntown fool are members, they have the same rights as the rest of us. That said, we all agreed to the T&Cs, which cover member conduct, so if we really wanted to we could throw the book at them." jjimb

All this resentment just because my opinions differ from those of the MyFC rulers. Blimey!

I look forward to seeing the first voting form on the MyFC site. I predict it will look something like this:

Clowntown? here is my perfectly independent opinion of the way you have been behaving around here .. basically you come across as a bit of a prat smile Don't really give a toss about the Ebbsfleet guys not the MyFC setup.

Oh, I haven't seen any threads about you at MyFC - that's based on my opinion of what you have posted on these forums :)_

You are more than welcome to have that opinion JohnB and I have no problem with you airing it. If only the MyFC rulers had a similarly laissez faire attitude in relation to the opinions of myself and other 'dissenters'! That's where the problem lies. Whilst I am sure that many/most of my fellow MyFC members are decent well-meaning people, it's the hints of 'North Korean democracy' that are eminating from the (suitably mysterious) MyFC rulers/apparatchiks - and the way these aren't being chaellenged - that is increasingly troubling me. Whether the G&N fans want to be troubled by it or not is of course up to them, but I'm surprised more MyFC members aren't expressing their concerns. People seem to be swept away in it all to a point where they have abandoned all logic/questioning in favour of a herd mentality. It's a little bit chilling, a little bit 'George Orwell', if you ask me...
