Quick question..

..What do the real fans think of the people who have joined MyFC after finding out which club it is the money will be going to? Are you more accepting of these people, as they've obviously though hard about it, and are doing it for the right reasons?

Or do you feel the same either way?

Nice to see things are starting to come together, people from MyFC and real fans getting along. It's quick to see the ones who are just in it for a laugh, and the ones that are serious isn't it?

Quick question?

I think a lot of our fans are going to have to accept the idea, just like we all have with the name change. I myself am still unsure on whether I like the idea or not, but I'm willing to back the board on their decisions and welcome any MyFC member who walks through the turnstiles to watch and support the club I still love! I'd welcome any new fans who want to join us singing bunch on match days, as well as others. I'm prepared to see how it goes and if all goes to plan for MyFC.

Hit it on the head Kev. I'll second that answer.

If this thing takes off and the Fleet are suddenly shooting up the table playing in front of huge crowds how do I feel about all the new fans?

Well we have been trying to attract new fans forever so I should be pleased shouldn't I.

The MFC fan standing next to me on the terrace has paid his £35.00, bought the shirt and made the effort to get to a game, so well done fella you are welcome.
The blokes I stand with have been going for years so they of course are welcome.
Most of the people packing the stadium however are not MFC and not the current fans they are the apathetic b*st*rds who live locally but wouldn't get off their bums to support their local team but now that the Fleet are doing well they all crawl out of the woodwork and claim to be lifelong fans...see if you can guess how I feel about them.

Which happens with any big cup game (8,000 to Villa anybody?) and we'd be disappointed if it didn't.

I made this posting on another thread a couple of days ago and I feel it still applies here:

After the shock of the news, and some of the initial postings on the forum my initial reaction was hostility towards the buyout. But a few days on I've had time to have serious thoughts about it. Rationality has taken over. Let's face it, to have got the 'fleet to the position we're in now is a major achievement - a full time professional club on the fringes of the football league with a major sponsor on crowds of 1,000 or less is something that was a million miles away when I first watched the club. But I believe we've achieved just about as much as we can in the current setup.

Time will tell if this is the right move, but it is a move and we couldn't afford to stand still. I now believe we really have to give this a try, what alternative is there - and for that reason you now have my support too. See you on the terraces for the Stafford game.

I'm glad to see most fans (by the way how do you refer to yourselves? At Leicester we call ourselves the Blue Army - original I know - but do you have a better name like Fleetsters or anything?) have started to come round to the idea and I look forward to sharing a pint with as many of you as possible once I finally get to a game (it's an 8 hour round trip for me so might not be as often as I'd like)
