Scott Oakes is on a week-long trial at Shelbourne FC in Ireland (the country you hate, EFMTFTV) and should be playing in a friendly or two in the coming week. A final decision will be made later in the week. Steve Cook has suggested that waiting for an English league club to come in may be the better option for Oakes to take up.

 

Herts Ad:

 

Barry White will keep his place in goal on Saturday away at Chesham. Cook is quoted as being pleased with White, sayiong 'he has been very accomplished and can't be blamed for any of the goals.' Steve Castle will be unavailable due to injury, and Derek Brown and Corey Campbell could still be missing.

 

Sun:

 

Colin Zeal has been given a new page, page 3, that shall replace the 'topless women' page. You've been warned.

The Shelbourne website says Oakes is on a ten day trial starting from the 5th which presumably ends tomorrow, so he could be back for the weekend?

The Observer says many matches have been rained off, so Oakesey will be playing Saturday against the mighty Bray Wanderers, and then Tuesday in a friendly of some sort.

 

I thought he was injured?

The Linfield game last Saturday was rained off but according to the main man, he is pencilled in for the Bray Wanderers game this Saturday and the Athlone Town game next Tuesday.

That would be an Irish 10 day trial, Mr Rob. According to Eleven a Side, Fenlon will be making his decision by the weekend.

Which weekend would that be then, Jim? Reading between the lines it doesn't sound as though Shelbourne are that impressed, so he may turn up at Braintree, you never know...
