Michael, we have ALL thought your way about the defence. Its just that a lot of us realise that what we say about it wont make any difference.You ARE right & its plain to see & has been for ages now that we are lacking in that department.
Trotty continues to seek players for these positions,so he says,so he DOES know about these difficiences.

As for young Martin, he did exceptionally well indeed & I was very impressed with him. He looks to be a magnificent recruit. Did a lot of damage to them down that left side.

Plus Radio Kent always put the kybosh on any game at Hartsdown, I think that has also been mentioned, but I want to moan about that too.

Just read that Ryan Martin was facing Lee Shearer playing at right back.

 

Now i'm sure Ryan is very good and quick;but maybe we need to reserve judgement until he is faced by a slightly quicker and more mobile opponent than good old Lee.

He was useful in central defence in his 'Gate days though.

Well 'True communication is the response that you get ' ,so i guess i mis-communicated here TA,and it was meant to be every so slightly tongue in cheek ,and understanding that Ryan is very good and quick hardly construes a negative response imo.

 

I would not like to think TA that you have fallen into the trap of which i am sometimes guilty; of widening your agenda in your reply beyond that of the original subject matter.

 

Notwithstanding my very poor attempt to convey a touch of humour, i am delighted that Martin had an excellent debut; which unfortunately, i was not priviledged to witness;but in seriousness,and in solely my own opinion, it may sometimes be best to reserve judgement until Ryan faces a slightly more mobile opponent,in adverse weather conditions.

 

I seem to remember last August and September 2006,Aaron (not Anton) Robinson being touted by many as the next Wright -Phillips.He faded somewhat.It seems Martin is in an entirely different class ,which is fantastic,and again,RT may well have made a very good signing.

'One swallow does not make a summer' but so far so good.
