It effing pains me the way the Eircom league is so low profile. One of my best mates does a Cork City fanzine and I fly out to a couple of games a year (albeit high profile glory hunter ones - I'm going to the Irish FA Cup final in a couple of weeks, for instance). Hanging out with the Cork fans (the full on Rebel Army nutters my mate knows) I'm amazed at how much they hate Celtic and Man U more than they hate any team in their own country, but then you walk the streets of Cork even on a matchday and you see the Celtic & Man U shirts outnumbering the Cork ones by several factors. Sad, and a lot of it - as I understand it - is the fault of RTE. The FAI didn't even set a kick-off time for the Cup Final until a week or so ago, apparently, as RTE wanted to wait to see what the kick off times of the English Premier League games were. Eejits.

Dont get me started on that useless shower of langers!

Good to know you get over to "The Cross" - wonder how MyFC would have been treated by Cork City fans?

Absolutely -

I remember my first hurling training session as a nine year old in Cork. First thing I was shown was how to jab the butt of the hurley in an opponents kidneys when he was jumping for a ball and the ref couldn't see - the first bloody thing. I was sensible enough to realise if he was teaching me to do this to someone else - he was teaching someone else to do it to me - never went back. Up the People's Republic of Cork.

Its a shame those kinda 'skills' have been picked up by Kerry (football) and Waterford (hurling)... The Rebels might have had a chance this year otherwise! (Ok, a small chance!)

Claim to fame: being the worst footballer in the schoolyard, alway picked last on the team and dumped in goals.

Now I KNOW he's lying. No teacher can afford 4 kids! j/k, Dom

In my opinion , celeb supporters , like journos , want to see what will happen , so are quite happy for the experiment to start . Unfortunately , in South America , guinea pigs are bred to be eaten .

FOOTBALL ISN'T A MATTER OF LIFE OR DEATH - IT'S FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT - Bill Shankly

STARS ? STARS ARE FOR THE FCKIN SKY - Bill Shankly

Bill Shankly met me once. When I was about 11 him and Kevin Keegan presented me and my team-mates with winner's medals for a 5-a-side competition.

I realise that this is totally irrelevant but it's Friday and I'm bored.

JEEZ !!! With an ego like that , you should sign up for MYFC !!!

I didn't like him (or his bubble-permed sidekick) because of the team they were with - it was hard not to spit on my hand before I shook his.

(Plus he did say that it was the best thing that had ever happened to him) whistle

All Americans Know who Garth Crooks is, Slarti. He is a Superstar Country(and Western) Singer! They will probably rise up, en masse and smite you!
