The Trust was set up (superseding the STSA) so it had an appropriate legal structure to enable it to take over in an emergency. The STSA did not have that legal structure.

There were two things made very clear at the launch....one was that the Trust did not want to take over the Club and the other was that part of it's objectives were to do as much as possible to support the Club.

roger has got his politian's hat on , But its good to hear that he supports the propsal thats on the table...thats good news..

so lets move forward and know all the parties are behind the Abour Vale project .....

This is real proposal of hope...and we need to move it on with all our support and ensure this is kept non political.

Because its a win win situation for everyone and everyone has its part to play to ensure this is accepted.

cheers chris

please remember the trust members make the decision, and the trust members are slough supporters and if it means a gamble to put into action the best proposal the club has and we need as a club a bit of help, what do you think they might do ?

As a ex trust board member I respect and understand the problems that the board have , they are duty bound by articles of the trust constitution, and have a duty to their members too.

Agreed, i think Ian said it best, The trust should be used as an Emergency takeover if needed or as a short term solution, when there are plans in place. However, I do not believe that the trust should be used to fund the club unless it is over a stipulated length of time. This Arbour Vale date is a case in point showing how dates can be lengthened. Personally i believe if we were told can we give money to blah... for two weeks... to buy BLAH and then after 2 weeks we guarantee BLAh would take over and pay for it, that is fine, the Trust, however, is not a large resource that can be expected to fund the club indefinitely. Some people may need to take note of that.

Anyhow thats my personal opinion.
The trust is an Emergency/ short term option and should only be used in those circumstances.
