MVDC's Supplementary statement on a 'Questions and Answers' theme:-

MOLE VALLEY ACTS TO PROTECT FOOTBALL IN DORKING

Questions and answers on Press Release of same title issued 12 November 2007

Q. When was the decision made to take action?

A. July 2007

That was widely anticipated and reported

Q. Why is this action being taken?

A. Because of the Club's failure over many years to carry out its obligations under its lease, in particular its failure to maintain and repair the buildings and fences to the required standard.

This would appear to be backed up by the recent vandalism and thefts, keep your fences, windows and doors in a good state of repair and the little feckers might pick an easier target

Q. What happens now / next?

A. On Friday 16th November, the Court will consider whether the Council should be permitted to apply to strike out DFC's 1991application for a new lease. If the Court does give permission, it is likely to give case management directions, for example, regarding the filing of evidence, the length of the hearing, and so on.

Court seems to have given permission and it goes to Guildford to be heard.

Q. Can the football club continue to be used whilst this is happening?

A. Yes, football can still be played at the grounds.

There you are you chicks you can start playing now !

Quote from the Council

"Dorking FC have played at Meadowbank since the 1950s, but the council said it did not want an end to football there"

What the people of Dorking need to see is the Council are saying they are not interested in ending Football at Meadowbank but want to have no further dealings with Dorking FC Limited and the Shareholders.

So all this talk coming from Dorking FC Limited about the Council having other reasons for trying to get Dorking FC Limited of their land for another use is all made up and are just trying to scare.

The main reason Dorking FC Limited are trying to be evicted is because the ground is a disgrace!

Quote from Dorking FC Limited

Vice-chairman Ray Collins said “negotiations for a new 25-year lease were on hold from 2001 to 2006”

"No sensible organisation would have at that time invested money into a repair programme," a statement added.

So where is this money that would have been put aside to do these works when the lease was sorted out then?

Looking at the Clubs finances on Companies House I was sent a few months ago it showed the club had spent around £50,000 - £60,000 on ground maintenance and improvements for a 2 – 3 period but Vice Chairman Ray Collins is saying no sensible organisation would have at the time invested money into a repair programme.

So either Ray Collins is saying no money was spent during this time, which would mean the accounts given to Companies House are incorrect or Dorking Football Club Limited did spend around £50,000 - £60,000 on repairs and they are not a sensible organisation!

As I said earlier the accounts are written by Hans Christian Anderson, they are a work of fiction not to be taken seriously.

do the accounts show that 60k was actually spent?

Or do the accounts show ground/lease improvements valued as assets at 60k?

either way can anyone say what these improvements are?

would anyone else value them at 60k and could the ltd co sell them for that or walk away with them?

If not the ltd company has a black hole in its accounts and is seriously skint.

I and many others, who tried to help and support DFC, have been pushed away.

Dorkings forum is an indicator:

Dorking FC Discussion Forums :: An Error Has Occurred

Sorry, you have been banned from this forum.

This discussion forum set up by the DFCSA for Dorking Football Club.

And what happened to the DFCSA Anyone remember?

It was disbanded because the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer expressed displeasure at the teams performance and were told to go away, stronger language was used...

The pitch was maintained by the Managers for the last couple of seasons, what happened to them, sacked for talking to a new potential tennant, as the council were trying to evict DFC Ltd. Funny how everyone else knew what was going but the club didn't, despite them knowing exactly the content of these meetings. They were invited, everyone was with an interest in senior football in Dorking.

This was posted in the Dorking AD May 31st.

The last paragraph being...

There is a meeting at 8pm tonight (Thursday) in the Old House at Home Public House, Dorking, for anyone who has an interest in the future of senior football in the town.

Try not to spill the coffee when reading the Dorking Ad tomorrow!

I hope the board can come up with something better than they have so far to rally any support in the town.

It does seem strange that the value of the leasehold improvements has increased by 10,000 during a period when the board say they werent spending.

I wonder what the 60,000 gbp leasehold improvements are?

That would be some positive news they could put out , "weve spent over 60, 000 pounds of our own money improving the facility, look we did this, and this"

I cant recall any of that being said and I cant say Ive noticed any improvements down there worth 60 k as a tangible asset.

The board have said "We didnt spend any money because of the lease issue"

It seems to me things need clarifying.

There was a lot of work done on the ground to keep its ground grading, any ideas how that was done?

£10,000 over a two year period is not a lot of money, and can easily be spent without any noticible differences.

The way you two are talking Black holes and things, Dorking FC is not a major PLC, but just a small club with the budget of a tiny corner shop. Get real?

Not sure on the date but relatively recently.

It is showing on the accounts as a tangible asset.

I dont think you can cut the grass and add 200 pounds to the leasehold improvements.

If you were being accused of not maintaining your property and you had spent 60,000 pounds on improvements wouldnt you mention that?

Would you decide to say I havent spent anything because I dont know how long Im staying?

Thats what the club are saying.

Date of Incorporation: 18/08/1982

The way I read the accounts:

£51,585 was spent from 1982 upto 2003, then the two year period between 2003-2005 another £10,000 giving a total of £61,585, do you not know how to read accounts?
