So now that AFC Dons have Jon Main will the Angels now find things harder than before?

Can they survive without him?

Is this transfer a good one for the player/AFC Dons?

Will it improve his game?

Will it bring about results so far eluding the Dons?

Will expectations of him fall short?

Time will tell obviously, but................

What do you think?

Well, the Dons are really going for it this year aren't they? Should be a cracking end of season between them and Chelmsford. Difficult to see any other real challengers for the title other than them. But once in the play-offs, you wouldn't bet against particularly AFC bottling it .... again!

For TAFC, that's just made it tougher for them although they should have a few quid to strengthen in a couple of places. So I'd say saftey for them, without setting the league alight.

Chelmsford are much the better side from what i have seen.

Although we beat chelmsford we were lucky.

AFC Wimbledon on saturday never really threatend us apart from the goal and we didn't threaten them at all but we are very lightweight at the moment and with our first team fighting fit i think we would of got at least a draw.

Lump your money on chelmo this season

Shows how every game is different-who turns up on the day.

Saw Wimbledon best Chelms in the trophy and Chelmsfored were made to look very poor by an uninspired but efficient Wimbledon.

I still think Wimbledon will finish above chelmsford. Why?

Because as above, they are efficient, and their defence is much better.

Terry Brown has done it right-sorted the defence first and now looking at the attack.

THey have not scored many, but up to last night had the fewest goals conceded in the league-thats why they are fifth.

Attack and Main will win them a few more matches; but great defence will win the championship.

Margate had a great goalscorer last season, who won a few games for us,but defence was poor so we did not do well overall.

Unfortunately, RT did not learn from that which really annoys me.

Perhaps he's just being a realist, OK he had trials with League Clubs but nobody signed him (and if they did he'd have probably sat on the bench for a season or so). At AFC W he'll get a regular start playing for a high profile and ambitious team, if he's got the talent to play at a higher level playing a for AFC W is a better shop window than Tonbridge Angels.

And his age will count against him too (and oh how I hate to say that!) It will be interseting to see how he does at AFC where (like Danny Hockton at Bromley) he won't be "the" main man (no pun intended).

I'm just a lover Taffy apple laugh

Monetarily i think the sale is very good for the club. It couldn't have happened at any other time. Ofcourse we'll miss his goals. I'm not sure what his tally was at the time of his leaving but a few weeks ago he was already 5 ahead of the same point last season shocked We've got a new Manager with new ideas and surely he'll bring more players in. We haven't played good footy so far this season even with the quality signings. New broom and all that...

Good luck to him at Wombles. I think he'll fit in very well to their team. Hope he settles quickly and proves what a good buy he is. smile

Tonbridge could just use this departure to their andvantage. No more reliance on Jon Main to score the goals, now the players will have to play more as a team & results could go in their favour because of this,OR they cold flounder badly & nose-dive to the depths of relegation.

Chelmsford were "shocking" at Ramsgate but that was obviously an "off day" for them & they are generally a consistent side & "classy". Need a bit more height in their team maybe.

AFC Dons will click in front of goal shortly & would have done anyway i.m.o.even without Jon Main in their line up.They will be challenging for honours.

Horsham & Staines are going to push these two to the end.

I found this funny, below. AFC Dons re: their Keeper problem

Another WARD!

I went to the AFC/Chelmsford match and you had the feeling that with Holmes,Noto,Ibe and Collins sitting on the bench that King wasn't 100% bothered about this game.TBH

As for Main dont forget that he is now full time so is expensive at £20000 fee plus at least £25000 pa in wages.Added to which Jolly is left still sitting on his hands after a £7500 fee and being paid at least £500 pw N(which is what we paid him at Swifts)to do the same job.So takin all that into account Main is even dearer...tough aint it.

As for Chelmo or Dons let it be both think the league will be happier place without either.IMO
