I'd like to know

and I'd rather an Ebbsfleet fan answered because I don't think any of the new lot are going to know anything about it.

They are all Ebbsfleet fans now Hannah. Tattoo studios are buckling with the demand.

Somebody turned up a company's house report, I'll see if I can find it. I'm sure it doesn't tell the whole story but I don't know if you've seen it. It mentioned some debts but they didn't sound catastrophic to me.

(I'm sorry that I'm not an existing fan.)

Hi Jimmy

Don't feel over qualified to answer your question but I'll have a look and get back to you, knowing some of the other MyFC members someone will probably beat me to it! You mention the myfc forum, just out of interest what do you think of it compared to this one? Be very interested to hear your comments.

EDIT; Oh, just taken on board Hannah's comment so perhaps you want to keep this strictly pre flood fleet! Still would love to know what you make of our forum setup. And I don't have any tattoos yet, but if I was to get one I think it would be "Mummy" lol

Anyways my point is, if we were secretly going under the water and in a years time we could be announcing we are going into administration, then I sort of understand why this has been done. Desperate measures for desperate times and all that.

However, if we were simply a poor club with not too much money for decent players/facilities but enough to keep us afloat then I'm still appalled at the decision, I think it's the lazy way of moving things forward, and have snapped up artifical fans with a load of their money to push us forward by force. Over time we could have sorted things out ourselves, there was no rush, we have only been a conference club for 5 years.

P.S. sorry for all the water references, having read that back.

As I understand it, one of the reasons that we were chosen was that we had a relatively small debt to be paid off, thereby providing the attractive option of more money being made available for Liam to spend in the transfer window.

However, what is relatively small compared to other clubs could well have been potentially catastrophic for us. We are full time. We have one of the smallest home attendances in our division. We are out the FA Cup. How long were we going to be able to continue at our current level with a full time team without this relatively small debt spiraling out of control? , We'd have been forced to choose to reduce our budget at the start of next season & settle for almost certain relegation or continue with the debt insidiously growing into unmanageable proportions, whilst hoping for a miracle - something the Board would not let happen.

That said, I fully respect the view that says, rather relegation & part time football than losing our identity. I don't believe we have to lose our identity - but then I might be proved wrong.

As far as Im aware you werent about to go under - one of the critera for MyFC team selection was that it wouldnt be riddled with debt (and one or more of other un-named teams in contention were ruled out on this point). There is talk of a small existing debt for the club but nothing 'significant'.

(Sorry to answer as a 'new' fan, but I happened to read something about this yesterday)
