Can I just ask you Kentish Expat, as a member of MyFC why you would want to be part of a take over of a club that the rightly concerned supporters don't want, what club do you support? I don't see why you'd want to meddle in a club you don't support, surely you'd be better off spending £35 at your own club.

And as I said in my post above, I can only see this going two ways: Either A) The members have so much say that the Manager and Coaching Staff walk out and you are unable to attract a suitable replacement or B) The members of myfc don't get enough say so don't renew their membership, leaving the club short of income.

What would you say to the rightly concerned Ebbsfleet fans to put their minds at rest?

I'd just like to apologise to the real fans of EUFC, I know i am not one of your ranks HOWEVER i feel strongly about this to the point i needed to say my piece.

If the real fans want me to quit posting i'd be pleased to respect their wishes.

PM me if this is the case,

Thanks.

If you look at it closely, and by 'you' I mean 'one', there is no such thing as true democracy. All the 'democratic' choices are given to society as recommendations in the first place.

for example:

I want a 99p coin to save on change - no one will ever offer me the chance to vote on it, so on that aspect I am being denied a democratic right, so to speak.

There are things that should not be voted on. Dealing with idiots should just be common sense by the powers that be

For the attention of Kentish Expat:

I take it from the fact you've ignored my previous post whilst replying to others, that you can't answer my question about why you'd want to take over the club against the fans wishes or put the Ebbsfleet Fans minds at rest regarding the issues I raised?

Sorry, CSG, I have only just seen your post.

Here goes:

When football clubs change ownership there are always concerns. It is unfortunate, to say the least, that yesterday this forum was infested with new members claiming that they already owned the club and that they could do whatever they wanted. The agreement in principle has been announced, nothing more.

I would hope that, over the next few weeks, the people who formulated the concept of MyFC, along with the existing board and the representatives of the supporters' trust, hold a number of public meetings where calm, clear and reasoned concerns can be answered in a calm, clear and reasoned way. The mechanics and background could then be explained by those who really do know. All we do is give our view which, by its very nature, may well be partial.

Once all the due diligence and consultation has been carried out, I would hope that some sort of representative view of the Ebbsfleet United fanbase (don't ask me at the moment how that will be done at the moment). The membership of MyFC will also vote - I myself would see what the opinion of EUFC fans was - if they were against I would probably vote against and suggest that the organisers of the idea found another club. I would be worried about being part of a hostile takeover.

As for me personally, I was born in 1969 in Tunbridge Wells. I became a fan of Southampton on May 1st 1976 - it was 2 days after my seventh birthday and Southampton beat Manchester United 1-0 to win the FA cup. I went to University in Southampton as well, so that was handy.

In 1999 I moved to a small village to the north-west of Lincoln. My local team, by about 400 yards over the Imps, was Gainsborough Trinity, so I still look out for their results.

In 2003 I moved to Herefordshire, and now Hereford United are my local team. I occasionally go to Edgar Street (I moan as fans park outside my house stopping me from parking there as well). I was there last week when we so very nearly beat Leeds last Friday - that is another story.

I do not subscribe to the tribalism of some when it comes to football. I like to watch a good game of football, and some bad ones (see Southampton FC's progress this season). I am a fan of football, and as such, when the MyFC concept was mooted, I signed up.

I am mindful, though, that existing fans have concerns that I hope can be allayed.

I hope all that makes sense and is not too much of a life history.

Thanks for your reply, I respect your view but am afraid I still can't see it working because as I have said I can see either the Members will get too much say and the Manager walks away or the members don't get enough say and they walk away, but I do hope for Ebbsfleet's sake that if the takeover happens that I am proved wrong.

I will not post again as I am not an Ebbsfleet supporter, just someone that feels strongly about the situation, so I shall leave it up to the Clubs own fans to raise anymore concerns they have. Good luck to all.

I signed up for MyFC in August. When i paid up i..

1. Thought we would take over/Bail out of trouble a club(s) that were in administration/about to go out of existence.

failing that..

2. Form our own club.(Perhaps from the ashes from those that had folded, maybe).

3.When we did takeover a club,it would need the full support of the Fans/Supporters.

4.We would have a list of clubs to choose from that would be voted on.

So, here we are today. And to say im disappointed is to put it mildly.

On my first point...Ebbsfleet U is not in administration and is not about to go under. Why oh why are we(MyFC) disrupting this club and its supporters? They dont need us!!

Point two...Forming our own club.I was clamoring for this idea from day one.I was continualy shouted down from the MyFC forums.Apparently, a rather stupid thought when its so much easier to just take a club over, Lock, stock and barrel.Who cares what the present fans of said club think?

Point Tree...Supporters of the club MUST have an up or down Vote on takeover.Without that..I Vote NO !!! Without the local fans, you have nothing.I live in the states,i cant be there for every home match. The local supporters are the Backbone of this franchise and deserve to be heard AND Respected.

Point Four... Ebbsfleet came out of the blue. I dont recall seeing them listed in "Member picks".At all. Something very dubious about that, but thats for another day.Who are the other clubs who approached us? A list please for a vote.

So,basically i want the EUFC fans to have the oppurtunity to vote on this takeover first and any other club we court with before we go any further.

Signed,frustrated MyFC Member.

Timmy, sorry about your frustration, but did you read the MyFC details before you joined? There was never a mention of focusing only on clubs in administration. And there was never a hint of a suggestion that we'd be starting a club from scratch. Again, sorry about your frustration, but the details were laid out for you to read before you joined.

As for the fans' support, I'm with you that we want it. But does that mean every single fan? A majority? Just the shareholders?

Apparently the Supporters Trust endorsed the idea, although they have been very quiet about it since the short blurb announced yesterday. I think many supporters are unsure what to think and need time to decide.

You and your crew are implicit and that. You talk of changing football away from boards who don't care about the fans. And you're doing exactly the same thing

rsheard, thanks for the reply and hope your feeling better today.

No, i did not read that before i joined, but point remains that it would have been the right thing to do. Just becouse you can, doesnt mean you have to. I would like to know if there is a list of clubs that have folded this year or are about to.I prefere to think of MyFC as a Lifeline and not the Villians.

Timmy, I don't know if there's a published list somewhere. Just as a reminder to all, here are the five criteria MyFC outlined for its proposed club selection:

51% or more of the football club shares can be bought.

There is none, or a manageable debt.

The club has the potential to reach the Premiership.

The size of the stadium and the availability of public transport.

The club is amenable to our approach.

From what I've been able to read over the past 2 days, EUFC fits those criteria extremely well.

p.s. Thanks for the good wishes, Timmy. Hate to say it, but it looks like I have to go back to work tomorrow. Glad the plague is gone though.
