Ebbsfleet i believe currently sit 10th in the league (5 or so places outside playoffs) and you know something they did that on their own merit without your BIG CASH you are promising.

A football club isn't only a success because of money if it was chelsea would be top of the prem right now and not dropped a point.

Oh and what's to say that the 20,000 votes will be fairly counted and reported? even with independent adjudication no one is above a bribe if the price is right. I believe that you have all been duped by a clever man. And i think many more than 20,000 people throughout the world would agree with my viewpoint..... that makes my arguement so much stronger than yours YAY for the power behind numbers ! ! !

Fairplay to them getting there without our help.

suggesting I'm stupid is of no merit to the conversation. I suggest you cease this line of conversation and continue to debate, it's much more civilised.

As for the voting method, well it will need to be fair. The fact that voting can be rigged and cheated is not a reason to stop democracy is it? Surely it just means the process needs to be carefully thought out and supervised.

No-one except the "Head Coach"
From the MyFC site...
"Members will then submit their preferred 11, formation and tactics. A database will calculate the most popular choice. This will be handed to The Head Coach to instigate."

Isnt that 'doing as you say'?

Hi Pat,

As much as I understand your frustration and anger about this (as this concept is completely new) I find it a bit unfair to leave out the first part;

"The Head Coach will brief members. This will include a review of the previous match, reports from the training ground and views on the forthcoming opposition. He will also give his thoughts on players, their form and fitness, as well as possible selections and tactics."

I find it highly unlikely people would pay a yearly fee just to destroy a club, of course there seems to be a few (the_gaffer and TheOwner who are the same person by the way), yet we are more than 53 000 members. Being extremely negative here, I would say at least 52 000 would want something good to your club. I know I for one will stick with Liams opinions until I consider myself knowing enough to vote "myself". Obviously, even if I know enough about the club/players myself, then mine and Liams picks would proly be the same anyways?

As I've said before, I understand everyone's anger and frustration, but I actually do believe not much will change. There is a reason all staff will remain, that is to inform and brief us about what they think, and as I said before - I'm confident the majority will vote what the staff suggests smile

Now I guess many raise the question "Then why the heck do you join if you're going to vote whatever the staff thinks anyways?". Well, the main reason was that it would be exciting to have a club to follow more closely as swedish football is rubbish but I also thought that it would be looked upon as more helping than destroying because of the reasons I mentioned above. I'm becoming more and more unsure as I read through this forum, but I still feel confident nothing will change to the worse neither on nor off the pitch. Why would we want that...?

Regards/
Viktor

ps. Sorry if my english is a bit bad, I'm home with a nasty flu (and english is just my secondary language)

It doesn't matter what Liam puts in his report, if the MyFC Massive decide they want a player dropped 'en-masse' and the votes reflect this, the new diktat stipulates that this would be instigated! (I dont think this will happen, I think that email might get 'lost' or trapped in the spam filter!)

And going back to these reports/reviews that are created after every game to 'guide' the voting owners... When do you suppose these will get done? Bearing in mind there are often mid-week games to fit in as well!

And there is no need to apologise for your English - its better than most who post here, myself included!

A point of clarification. MyFC does not have 53,000 members. That is the number of people who registered an interest in the organization before the trust was set up and money began to be collected. The only "official" number we've heard recently is 20,000. Somewhere above 20,000 is the actual number of paid members. We'll find out the precise number once the purchase deal has been concluded.

Hmm, sorry about that one then. I thought that you had to pay to register, obviously I was wrong.

I took myself the freedom to cut out my text since the quote would be awfully long.

I'm choosing not to answer the first question, mainly because I feel it's more or less impossible to answer. I don't see any reason why MyFC would like to screw with your club smile

The second question though. I'm not saying I'm 100% correct here, I'm not even sure I'm 1% correct here. But I'm assuming some things about managers/head coaches here;

For every game, training session etc. they observe things. It may be someone being in a surprisingly good/bad form, might be a youngster showing he should get 30 mins in the coming game etc. For everyone of these observations I also imagine they have their own ways to remember it. Might be in text, might have room for all of it in their brains. Anyhow, it shouldn't take him too much time to share his thoughts and opinions with us?

If I'm right about this, then it shouldn't take him much longer time to share his observations with us, what takes time is to actually do the observations which he of course already does.

If I'm not, I just hope someone has spoken to him and informed him exactly how his role will change. (in my opinion, not very much, although it seems a lot worse than it is)

Regards

The details of the Head Coach's role have been discussed with the current coaching staff and, at least officially, they support the plan. If they don't really, I'm sure we'll learn that quickly enough.

One point to keep in mind is that, like any organization, MyFC incorporates the capacity for change. If we're doing something that's not working, like any other owner, like any other manager, we have the ability to adjust. And despite our large numbers, it might prove to be a benefit in not having one individual making the decisions because we won't have to find the inherent stubbornness of our individual convictions. "I'm not wrong, no matter how bad a mess I've made of things!" With thousands of sets of convictions, the consensus will change quicker than one stubborn individual will, but it won't change willy nilly every time we hit a bump in the road.

I didn't suggest you are stupid i aksed the question, To to which a no would have sufficed.
so conversation and democracy are the way forward......?

Think back to yesterday morning when EUFC fans were told the future of their club rather than invited into a dicussion regarding their future.

Don't guide me towards democracy and debate when all MYFC did was go behind the existing fan bases back to secure something for their own gain you hypocrite.

As I said on another thread, the reason the supporters trust was spoken with instead of individual supporters is at the request of the board itself for anonymity. It wasn't an end-around by MyFC and to characterize it as that shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the process.

And I invite you to explain to me how we get a personal gain from this endeavor. As has been stated on this board many times in the past 24 hours, by law, no MyFC member will ever take a penny in profit, even if in fantasy land the club rivals Man Utd in size someday. It's a charitable trust. All profits remain with the club, and if at any time 75% of the membership decide to sell the club (and I haven't yet thought of a scenario where they would be motivated to do so), any proceeds must go to a charity.

It's fine to disagree with MyFC's project, but don't mischaracterize it to set up an easy straw man to knock down.

I'm sorry, but nobody will convince me on the voting front, because nobody(aprt from quoting from the Myfc hymn sheet) has answered my first concern!

When this takeover was anounced on the BBC news, Ebbsfleet were No10 in the poll of teams we would like to own! It didn't go to the top of the poll until the sfternoon. How come if the majority, or more than one person, voted for the takeover before it occured!

If this vote seems dodgy, how can you reasonably expect fair minded people to believe all your team selection votes, are going to be fair and above board. I have yet(and wait for the waterfall) to hear any members that have invaded this forum, to say they voted for Ebbsfleet. Did anyone vote for Ebbsfleet, before or after you were "advised", that this was the Club the majority of the members wanted to take over? Who tells you that the majority want this or that? How can the legitimacy of the voting be checked?

After sitting through two sham Presidential Elections here , and the obvious vote rigging, you can't blame me for being sceptical!

I still believe (and don't trot out that "Trust Dogma" again!), that tghis is one mans backdoor takeover, using whether you like it or not, 20,000 dupes as a front!

The preference poll you refer to was never a straight vote. When members signed up, before entering a single discussion with other MyFC members, they were asked their opinion on what club they'd like to see MyFC buy. Obviously, without any research or realistic expectations, many members simply chose the team they followed. EUFC was never in the top 15 of that opinion poll until the last minute.

The actual vote is yet to come. When the purchase team concludes its due diligence, the members will apparently be asked a straight yes/no vote on whether to close the deal. That will, in fact, be our first vote as a membership.

The fact that EUFC soared to the top of the opinion poll is a reflection of the membership's excitement yesterday that a club fitting our purchase criteria has been identified and a deal had been reached in principle. The members of MyFC are excited. That shouldn't be a surprise.

No "one man" will ever have control of MyFC because the website operators are not the owners of the charitable trust. Each voting member has a single vote. Full stop.

The thing that amazes me(or on reflection maybe not), that 20'000 fools and their money could be parted from their money for nothing!

Can you imagine one of theses people trying to sell this to a Bank Manager........"If you give me 35 pounds, i'll give you a lot of promises I can't deliver, and in the end you will have nothing!!!

Bank Manager.."Good day sir, and don't let the door hit your stupid ass on the way out!"

so people say that it was never MYFC's intent to deceive and go behind peoples back, That's fine but the fact remains this has been shoved in the face of a teams fans with no thought what so ever for their feelings.

I don't think i have seen more than 1 or 2 people from the existing EUFC fan base think this idea is right for THEIR club....

I'll wait on you telling me it isn't their club, just because they don't have a piece of paper proving it doesn't make it a false statement.

Seeing the level of resistance you have encountered from a club with a relatively small (not any less passionate) fan base i'd suggest you leave them alone before they react with their feet and stop helping the gate receipts.

Not half as excited as the directors of MyFootballClub Ltd must be. I bet they couldn't believe how many people were just queueing up to pay them £7.50 each year.

So where does the profit from anciliary activities such as advertising on the website go to. Surely to the football club?

There was a lot of skepticism when Will Brooks first proposed the concept. Then 53,000 people registered an interest. Doesn't mean much since no money was on the line. But then more than 20,000 people DID send money in within a few months. But we're all going to be fleeced, so no reason to have any faith in the idea's legitimacy. Then EA Sports signed on as a sponsor. Yeah, but they just make games, so no need to take them seriously. Then the trust was registered with the FSA, but who are they, just paper pushers. No one will talk to MyFC, you'll see. Wait, you mean four clubs called them? Five? What? Now nine clubs? Real clubs, with players and everything? Yeah, but no club will ever actually sell. What do you mean they announced a real deal?

Tongue in cheek, naturally, but my point is simply that MyFC has been written off as quackery and fantasy land from day one, and yet it has done what it set out to do from day one. It's organized football fans from all over the planet, bringing them together at a low cost, to purchase a football club.

Nothing wrong with skepticism. But at some point, when MyFC keeps doing what it's always set out to do, will you join us in the future? I promise, no orange robes, no secret religious oaths, no Kool-Aid.

All day we get the UK based spinners on here - when they are exhausted , The Rev Sun Myung Sheard , of Waco (NC), takes over all through the night . Anybody noticed how many different threads he has killed so far , being the last to post with a witty ( he thinks ) sign off ? Rev Sheard - here's a heartfelt plea - SHUT UP FOR TONIGHT . Let's see what happens , eh ?
