Tick Tick Boom Dorking FC

I am amazed that no one has picked up on it yet and Big JR has not mentioned anything about what the Council did last night after the game.

Chains and locks put around the gates with a court appearance this Friday. Amazing what the Council can do when someone else is picking up the bill.

So is this the end of Football at Meadow Bank for Dorking and Bookham for this season.

I do hope Bookham have been told and have some where else to play for this season.

So in the end those Crystal Balls where right.

I wouldnt be so sure Dave, big rumours that Dorking Wanderers have huge proposals ready and in place, fair play to them, they deserve it, great local support, come through the leagues and done everything the right way, hence the fact they have such financial backing.

Confirmation that the current tenants are about to face an eviction order is on the Mole Valley District Council website (see below). So DFC and Bookham will presumably be suspended from the league? A very sad, if not unforeseen day.

Mole Valley District Council, as landlord of the Dorking Football Club ground at Meadowbank, Dorking is taking legal action aimed at obtaining possession of the clubhouse and grounds.

This action is being taken in order to protect this community asset, given the poor state of repair of the property.

For a number of years, the Council has tried to agree a meaningful way forward with the current tenant to ensure that the clubhouse and grounds are properly maintained. However, despite numerous approaches by the Council to the current tenant to carry out essential repairs, it has failed to respond positively. As the repairs and maintenance required by the tenancy have not been undertaken, the Council is asking the Court for an order that would enable it to remove the tenant.

Mole Valley's Property Champion, Councillor Janette Purkiss comments "The current tenant has left us with no option. We are conscious that this action may affect the members of the club in the short-term; however, we must protect the residents' assets and the club's long term future. This action is necessary to seek possession of the property before it deteriorates any further."

Vice-Chairman of the Council, Councillor Derrick Burt, a long-standing Councillor and Dorking resident adds "The Council is totally committed to a Football Club having use of the grounds and facilities at Meadowbank. This action does not mean that the football club ("The Chicks") itself, disappears. Football will continue at Meadowbank."

The Council will expect any future tenant to undertake the appropriate level of repair and to agree to a suitable on-going maintenance programme to ensure that the grounds and club facilities are up to the standard that the residents of Mole Valley deserve.

although Ididnt go in Meadowbank was open for business last night, the lights were on and the game was due to go ahead.

the chat in the summer was that if the council moved to evict it would take 6 months to physically and legally evict.that would take us up to the end of the season roughly.

MVDC may have found another route.

Why the council published yesterday and they didnt act in the summer, I dont know

let us hope that the parties can find a way to ensure that football continues down there somehow, and everybody puts the best interests of the two FOOTBALL clubs involved ahead of their own.

Chains and locks on the gates, PB.

Not only is your crystal ball not working, I suggest you get sponsorship from Specsavers !

At least you and your bunch of renegades are coming out of the woodwork at last.

I will now post all the three relevant press statements in full - Not abridged like the Advertisers had to be due to constraint on space.
