I don't think anyone here would stop anybody from becoming a fan of the club, the more the merrier in my book. I just have issue with giving 20 000 people with no knowledge of our team the ability to make decisions about it.

 

As has been said before, if you really wanted to help, you could have joind the Fleet Trust and given the club the money that way.

The join the Fleet Trust is a good idea to help but the problem is that only fans want to do that. The fans don't real know what we will do. We are not computers or children who want to play the manager. The staff will not be our slave and we will not kill a player because he had made a bad game.

I know you want the best for your team. You see now 20,000 people who are not fan and you think now they want only have fun and play with it a little like a toy and than to put it away when they are tired. What would be the thing that would change this idea among the fleet fans. What should we do to have your trust ?

Changing the name would probably be quite a popular decision amongst 'Fleet Fans'. Ive been following 'The Fleet' for something approaching 40 seasons. Ive loved the club throughout. And we've had some real bad times and some good. I have found for the first time in all those years that i have been struggling to keep up my interest. Basically it's all down to the new name. However a lot of thought went into changing the name and it's a name for the future. I welcome the MY fc involvement and hope it can regenerate some interest in the club which it already has. I shall return to the terraces and look forward to the money and the new 'fans' generating success above and beyond that we could have accomplished ourselves with such limited funds. Look forward to some big names on the pitch and good times ahead. If it goes wrong then so be it...then please give me my 'Gravesend and Northfleet' back.

We have already members who have paid for 2 years. The problem to pay for 10 years is thats maybe to much. Not because of the money or they are tired to be members. The problem is that a few month ago, our project was not sure. We hadn't a club and to pay for 10 years would be a little stupid but now that could be possible. Next year I would pay for 10 years if is possible.

Thanks for those words. I'm only one voice, not a rep. of MyFC, but I personally would like to see the name change back since the fans seem of one opinion on this. Someone has suggested, however, that the name change may be a stipulation of the Eurostar sponsorship. If that's true, we may not be able to change it until that contract runs its course.

I understand the reasoning behind the name change, but I think it was an unneeded change that alienated the fans.

So, if it comes to a vote at MyFC, I'm with you on getting the old name back.

The point of the annual rate being so low was to include as many football fans as possible. We purposefully didn't want to price anyone out of participation.

That said, many members have subscribed for more than one season, and once the club purchase actually goes through, I think many more will do so. If MyFC adds a longer-term membership, I will indeed opt to do it. Maybe MyFC should offer a life membership.

I realize a one-year membership sends a mixed signal. But its intention was to be inclusive, not suggest a lack of commitment.
