Are the club in financial difficulties ?

Do the board want to claw money back before we go under?

Have the board done this for there own reasons and not the clubs ?

Have they in effect stitched Ebbsfleet and MyFC up ?

If it all goes belly up will the board still want the the club ?

To be honest Busta I'm not sure who the board are any more. All I've read on this forum over the months is that this clubs board are ardent fans of the Fleet but on this years showing I find that very hard to understand. I hope I am wrong and someone can see something I can't.

I don't believe anyone has ever suggested that the club was in financial difficulties. It was my understanding that the board members saw this as an opportunity to push the club to a level it's never been to yet.

I don't think the board saw MyFC as an escape route. If they has believed that, I don't think they would have accepted a deal structured as it is, with a minimal payment up front.

The deal is set up so that the most capital can go into the running of the club immediately. That sounds to me the actions of a board that is thinking about the long-term success of the club, not one that's trying to skulk away in the dead of night.

You should read the thread fully, Live4ever posts "would you rather the club had gone under"

He's one of 'yours' I guess?

PatMan, I don't know if he is or not. When I said "I don't believe anyone," I intended that to mean "I don't believe anyone with any knowledge of the club's finances," meaning the MyFC purchase team.

I can't speak for each individual who is, or claims to be, a MyFC member. Sorry I wasn't as clear as I should have been.

That should be the motto on your website!

i think the board point is good. I'm not sure who it is but maybe from some there has been thought of getting some money back and the oppurtunity has come along to do this. If not myfc then who else was there to take us over. Halifax were approached but they have cleared things up now and prpbably told myfc where to stick it. With other clubs as well. I reckon most clubs who "approached" myfc saw what they wanted laughed a bit and told them to piss off. I was surprised they have got a club of our size i thought it wud have been down a league maybe?

Au contraire, Halifax were desperate for us to take over, but we turned them down. At least one of the clubs begging us to take them over was a proper league club (albeit League Two).

Given the frankly petulant attitude displayed by many of the G&N keyboard warriors towards our charitable act (gift horses and that) I wouldn't be surprised if the MyFC members voted against the takeover and moved on to a more worthy target.

Compare Halifax fans' attitude to that of you lot:

Simon Denton, editor of the Shaymen Down South fanzine and website said: "Given the recent history of Halifax Town, one is left to wonder whether a club run and owned by 50,000 could be any worse than what we have experienced to date.

"After all, we already have a stadium owned by 200,000 citizens. I like the idea of people across the world getting enthusiastic about the club I love."

Richard Harris, board member of both the Supporters Trust and the Stadium Trust, added: "A club run by the fans for the fans is a tempting proposition. We have got Shaymen Down South, why can't we have them north, east and west as well.

"I concede that this model for running a football club has its problems, but the challenge of solving them puts a smile on my face."

The above are the sort of fans we should be helping out, in my opinion, not the boohoohoo we don't want your money drama queens that seem sadly abundant at G&N if this forum is anything to go by.

clowntown doesn't represent in any way the majority view of MyFC members. But in any group as large as MyFC, there will be differing opinions, including good and bad ones. I don't apologize for clowntown; he speaks for himself. I just wanted to state clearly that he doesn't speak for my views.
