FOR FLEET FANS GOING TO OXFORD

Recommended Posts

I have been sent the following - printed verbatim - by the Secretary of Oxford United:

Can I ask you to inform the real Gravesend & Northfleet or should I say Ebbsfleet supporters to ideally purchase tickets directly from Stonebridge Road or arrive a little earlier than normal. They are also available on-line from our website. You probably will not be surprised to hear that we have already had a number of enquiries from the many potential 'new owners' and while we are lucky that we have plenty of space here, I would not want the real Fleet fans at the back of the queue to buy tickets on Saturday as a consequence.

Will the away fans be segregated I wonder ?? The £35 boys in one half & those that have forked out £00's, £000's in the other.

Cheers,

Is it me or are there some veiled threats in there somewhere?

All Fleet fans should wear their older season shirts... if nothing else but to let the Oxford contingent know that the suddenly ballooned attendance contains some people who didn't ask for all of this.

Fair enough, but to talk of segregation is not helpful. Other posts have said that they will "have no choice but to kick off" if they find themselves next to a MyFC member. So excuse me for being slightly defensive.

I guess that these new guys don't realise that Oxford get that money.

I wonder how many will turn up once they have had the great good fortune to watch a few Conference games.

Could The Fleet become the Manure of non league, sold out for every home game, Jap tourists clutching tickets and wandering around the cement works hoping to spot the stars.

Another good point - wouldn't it have been good to announce this with an impending home game? Or have we already got so much fat cash we can let a few grand slip past unnoticed?

Yes I realise Oxford get the money

The same way I realised that G & N FC got the money on my various visits to Stonebridge Road before.

And yes, I cannot wait for the romantic return to watching conference football week in week out.

Is your problem with the MyFC members that will try to make as many games as possible?

Yes, of course we realise that, and are already planning the first home games....in fact most are waiting for the Stafford game.

That is if we and our cash are welcome there smile
