PICKING THE TEAM

“How will the team be picked?”
The Head Coach will brief members. This will include a review of the previous match, reports from the training ground and views on the forthcoming opposition. He will also give his thoughts on players, their form and fitness, as well as possible selections and tactics.

Members will then submit their preferred 11, formation and tactics. A database will calculate the most popular choice. This will be handed to The Head Coach to instigate.

“How will players react to being picked by thousands of members rather than a manager?”
It will inspire them. Having the backing of tens of thousands of members will be the ultimate motivation. Don’t forget, personality clashes between managers and players are common in football and often lead to poor performances. Our club will not suffer from this. Players will know that if they play well then they should get picked.

This was on the website of the person who thought up this scam great investment opportunity and you expect everyone to just believe it.

Just remind me what percentage of your £35 has gone on management fees again?

It is obvious that they have to make it appear that you are getting something for your money when in reality you will have no say in the day to day or long term running of the club.

Then surprise, surprise people will realise that they do not get much for their £35, will not renew their membership and will leave Ebbsfleet high and dry.

One of the things I've observed in the last few months on the website is there are hundreds of members who are already devoted to this idea. They were devoted well before the club name was announced and there have been many people putting time and personal effort into promoting the idea. The communication in the forums has been excellent and constructive (something that I have not witnessed here, present company excluded)

So there are various parties who have been thrashing out how this information flow is going to work and although I can't give you an exact answer because I don't know I am 100 percent confident a solution to this challenge will be forthcoming.

Yet you seemed quite sure of it above when you advised us all to go read it to stop our 'silly' arguing. Can you blame us being nervous when the reality appears to be akin to a brewery holding a poorly-organised pi$$-up.

I still don't really understand what the problem is?

You are getting a shed load of money which you wouldn't otherwise be getting.

You are getting a vast amount of people who are going to show an interest in your team.

If it doesn't work then you will be where you were before we came along?

Remember the 700,000 this year is to buy the club and this 35 quid is annual so imagine what you will be able to do with it next year.

Would you rather your club just stay a small one? or do you actually want to achieve success?

Achieve success isn't the same as buy success? Are you guaranteeing more money next year? Even if the club don't get promoted? Or get relegated?

Achieving success shouldn't be about buying success but unfortunately anyone who dosen't see football as a business needs a reality check. If anyone doesn't think profesional football is about money then all they need to do is take a ball over the park and have a kick about.

It is about money and it will be about money.

I know I will be investing my money for year two and I can't speak for everyone else but my guess would be that there will be a significant second year investment. It's possible this could be more than year 1 and this time the funds won't need to buy the club.

Because for all the FAQ says, there is still no clear idea of how this voting will work.

I'm not saying it can't work, I'm not saying we don't want success, but what we want, having woken up to the brave new world of WillBrooks.com and now being generally despised by most other real football fans at this level, is a clear indication of how this REALLY works.

Your PR yesterday was very slick on a national level, it was truly appalling on a local level and that doesn't help the fears of a thousand people who ultimately might not matter.

Dystopia? I don't think so. 20,000 people with one vote one share, can't sell their share, a large annual investment. Surely this is better than greedy indivuals who invest in football clubs for their own (undeclared) reasons and their own wallets.

All profits will be put back into the club.

Football needs new ideas otherwise England will become the football dystopia you fear all on it's own.

Myfootballclub is about taking a chance in something different. Yes it has no guarantees but at the end of the day surely that money this year, right now is going to help your club?
