Lack-luster performance..

I cannot agree with some threads on this site.

How can people state that there are positives from the last two games.

Both performances have been poor at best and there is no point saying that we did "well" for 20 minutes. That is not good enough when the games lasts 90+ mins.

These lack-luster performances are bringing the entire Club down and the "general feel" about the place last night was that of an acceptance of not being good enough to win matches against the likes of Canvey ( who I thought played fast attacking football ).

Interesting that we took 6 - 8 passes to get out of our half, compared with Canvey who took 2 passes to get into the Town penalty area and put our defence under pressure.

Attendences will drop every week with these poor performances and one thing leads to another in a depressing downward spiral often seen at this level. ( okay there is the certainty of season tickets, but that will not help if gate money disappears )

The first half performance and shape of the team was poor in both the Wivenhoe and Canvey games with JC going for a One up front formation - what is all that about ?

Far to much respect is given to the opposition for my money.

There is no inspiration on the pitch and no "leader" pulling the team together - this also applies to the Town bench who never appear to encourage the Players during a game - just foul mouth certain chosen ones week in week out.

Is it any wonder that the supporters vent their frustrations at the games or on here ?

Jim has stated that he needs new players to stop the rot and he has brought in 4 or 5 over the last few weeks ( to add to the 30 or so on the books ) , Perhaps he has a dozen or so too many and can't decide who to play or what the hell his best 11 are, or what formaton to play. In my opinion the new players have not shown they will be future stars of this Club and the general quality being brought in is average at best. Numbers in the squad do not make a team !

I believe Jim is 100% Town through and through BUT, perhaps Jim needs to move aside to let some fresh ideas come through.

Christmas and only a few more points on the board, may be too late for this season.

As with most mid week games I struggle to get to them due to work & home location, however at 5:30PM yesterday I had the rare decision to go & grab something to eat then get to the ground or go home, I chose to go home as I just couldnt get enough motivation to put myself through another 90 mins like Saturday which is even more worrying to me than JC's team selections, the wife couldnt believe that I had not gone, in fact I was put through a 10 minute interagation!!

It sounds that I made the right choice though, which is disapointing in itself, seriously the next couple of games will surely spell out the future, anything other than 6 points will spell the end of automatic promotion & make it a struggle for a play-off place.

Several of us have commented on the detierating performances for a long long while, whingers or not I dont care, I want to see a fresh impetus at the club now before its too late!

Strangly enough we are not really a long ball side and like to pass the ball about. We do have two forwards now though who can hold the ball up and bring others into the game which they did last night.

Thought you played some good football at times but your final ball was sometimes lacking.

All the best for the rest of the season.

I for one am very worried about the quality of the new players brought in this season, and to a lesser extent, those players brought in last season. For me none of the 10 or so new players brought in are as good as our established players, and they are not even as good as the many dozens of past players we have ejected for not (allegedly)being of the quality we demand.Do any of the new players have the qualities of the like of Brotherton,Woodward, Cooper, even clarkey??? If not, we are going backwards.End of!

The last 20 minutes of the canvey game were soul destroying. It felt like we were watching our reserve team, rather than players supposidly good enough to wear the blue and white of Town.Against Wabbey we put out a strong side and decent formation.Since then, for various reasons we have turned into the poorest Town team EVER.When everyone is back from injury/suspension in a week or two, lets hope we improve, because play like we did for the last hour of the two previous games, and we'll struggle to avoid the bottom half of the table.

As a Hornchurch fan said recently. The Ryman prem is so much stronger than our league. To be seeemily treading water or going backwards at this level is not acceptable.

As long as you don't expect the manager to do it, that's fine.

I can't quite see the advert header- 'Level 4 Football Club Manager Required- Immigration Officers Only Need Apply'- troubling the postman too much.

So, who was on the committee at the time of this unfortunate incident?

I'd expect him to have an idea or at least ask the question, as a manager myself I always check such details even with an HR dept.

No, only market men need apply.

No idea but I can see a gloat coming.
