I didn't see the original post. Who was the writer? If he's correct, it's news to me. I don't think details about the exact process for that have been given to the membership. But if he's right, I've missed it.

It wasn't a post on a messageboard. He was live on national radio last night purporting to be an offical spokesman of myfootballclub.

OK, sorry I didn't hear it. As I said, it's news to me. I haven't seen much about how the "transparency" for members will work once a purchase has been completed. I'm not saying he's wrong; I don't have any official capacity with MyFC. Just that I hadn't heard that bit yet.

Your concern about feasibility will be shared by other members, I have no doubt.

This is the sort of thing we will have to find a way to manage. Realistically we won't be having players wages splashed all over the website as, besides anything else, it would contravene the Data Protection Act 1998 I would have thought?

I would presume we will be given enough information to say that if we sell x and purchase x we will save £x per week.

I admit this isn't great as an asnwer but I'm sure these sorts of difficulties can be overcome with a bit of thought and understanding.

From what I have read on their website and thinking about this logically. The Head Coach and scouts will recommend player they wish to sign. They would have done there homework and calculated transfer fee, wages, contact length into the equation before recommending that player (so the club could afford him). The vote would then be to proceed with the purchase or to consider alternatives (again found by the scouts/coach). With this scenario no MyFC members would need to know the details of wages, fee, or contract length.

I think some people are having unrealistic views on how this would work! I doubt 30,000 people on the MyFC forum said “Buy Frank Lampard”, that the club would have to waste time approaching Chelsea!!! Think people!

If you are responding to me, then how would they out bid them. The fee, contract and wages would be kept off the MyFC website and internal to the club. It could work thus:

"Liam recommends that Ebbsfleet attempt to sign Fred Bloggs of Another FC. Click here for player details...Click Here to vote Yes, click here to Vote No etc"

However I do take you point that it would be impossible for Ebbsfleet to approach a player without public knowledge.

Remember, the MyFC nerds voted to buy Leeds or Nottm Forest! How stupid an idea is that? This is the kind of people who get to vote - Thats what I think!
