How do you think a player would feel, being put on the bench because thousands people who haven't seen him play have had their input into the team line-up?

This is just one I the things I can't get my head around.

Are the players even happy about the deal?

Imagne this scenario, LD puts his report to the 20,000 on Thursday, they report back late on Friday with his team and formation.

Saturday morning, 2 players wake up feeling ill, one stubs his toe in the bathroom, and one pulls a muscle in the pre-match warm up.

LD then has to make 4 team changes at short notice, without the chance to consult the polit bureau.

This makes a mockery of the system.

I wonder how many times teams have not been finally selected until matchday lunchtime?

The new owners/fans, all 20.000,30.000, now being quoted at about 50,000, knowing the players/managers wages and bonuses, surely could lead to illegal taps from richer clubs these people reckon they already support! I can imagine this phone call:

"Mr Chairman, i'm one of the new owners of myEbbsfleetfc, and we have a striker that earns xxxx pounds a week. We need a new striker at this club, which I really support. I bet if you offer him xxxx pounds he will be only to willing to come play for us. I'm doing this for the good of Football Mr.Chairman.........Oh and of course......The good of both clubs!"

Please don't give me the bullsh!te that this couldn't happen! All, however many thousands of you there are, are Lillywhite and above reproach!

Salary irrelvant as to whether a player is good or bad.

I'd guess the manager will have final say on who he sells or not. He may 'say' he is selling a plater, but how 'active' he goes about this is his call.

Any player not happy with situation can move on I guess, as plenty others willing for a chance.

Consider the alternative - a fringe player get 10,000+ votes to be picked - how about THAT for motivation to do well in a match and try his heart out more than ever.

So dont always see the negative view.

Fugazi - MyFC member or not? Its that website that says its members have the final say - how can they possible decide this without knowing the salary?

Stop considering alternatives - A fringe player gets 10,000 votes - he is a fringe player for a reason, usually cos he not good enough/not ready for first team selection - Thats what a manger decides, not 10,000 keyboard warriors.

Its not negativity - its realism!

Would YOU want 20,000 people knowing how much you earned?

If some members think that they will be doing this they will be mistaken (and i am sure alot of them do)

I can see the involvement being in setting overall wage and transfer budgets. perhaps at most budgets for first team regulars / reserve players etc.

I anticipate members will have much less control than they think. I also think because of that membership numbers will fall after the first year (unless ebbsfleet acheive promotion or the playoffs which would further increase their and myfc's visibility)

Unfortunately, its not what they think - its what their website is telling them! If MyFC can't be honest with its own members, what chance does the team they take over have of honesty?

What he said^^^^^

This isnt about me is it? Its about securing professional footballers on contract. You do realise thats what your website says you are responsible for? How do you decide if player A or player B should be sold if you dont know the full details of his contract? How would you feel if 20,000 people knew exactly what you earned?

apologies for gatecrashing your forum, I'm just an Oxford fan having a look around. Fleet fans, you have my total sympathy - this is a sh1tty thing to happen to your club. I think the myfc fans need to have a look at themselves and think about whether they really are massive football fans if they think undemocratically taking over another club is a way to make things more democratic.

Anyway the salary thing is just one of the things I'm not sure the myfc fans grasp. It's all salary capped in the conference so there are no decisions to make about wage budgets and transfer budgets, it's all decided by that complicated algorithm. I don't see how they can realistically pick a team either (surely if the members vote on a player the manager, sorry head coach, doesn't want to play he'll just say he's injured?), so I'm not sure quite what they think they've paid their 35 quid for.

Anyhow, best of luck for the season (apart from Saturday and if we both end up fighting it out for play off places).

Just a quick clarification on the salaries/negotiations issue. As it was originally explained to MyFC members, the club will have a CEO who handles salaries, negotiations, transfer negotiations, etc. I'm sure there will be some general voting by the members on the direction these things take, but not on the actual contracts themselves.

If I remember what I read correctly, the Head Coach's duties are separate from the CEO's, splitting football and business duties between them. Someone from MyFC correct me if I'm remembering this incorrectly?

Not at all worrying then that the spokesman of myfootballclub went on national radio last night and said that's exactly what members will be doing.

What did you expect?

"Yeah, its all going great thanks. The internet nerds have bunged us 20,000 lots of £7 - and thats even BEFORE they knew where the money was going? Obviously, we took a few liberties with the wording on the site - they DON'T actually own the club, or have a choice in who plays, or gets transferred. Yes, they have a vote - but we can always ignore that like we did with the one for which team we bought into...

What do you mean this is live?"

I think you'll find that it's your trust spokesman that needs some clarification.

Sorry, I'm not sure what was said that was incorrect. Can you point me toward the explanation that is in question?

He explicitly said that members would have access to player salary information, as part of the transfer negotiations, which led me to e-mail the show in question to state how completely unfeesable that was. If that's not true, why is the spokesman for this venture stating such falsehoods?
