As long as you dont look down on the fans as you are carried in sedan chairs to your reserved space in the executive boxes, there should be no problems at all.

I (and I think most other members of MFC will feel this way) see myself as a new supporter of Ebbsfleet United, not an owner. The only thing that is a bit different to normal is that I will be consulted in major decision making.

As long as you realise the consultation will be something like this...

Saturdays keeper is - L. Cronin/Lance Cronin (delete as reqd)

I too am one of the 20,000 new supporters and I very much see myself in that vein rather than 'co-owner'.

Having become disillusioned with the money in the top flight of the game and the lack of real match atmosphere, I'm very much looking forward to attending games and seeing how this will work.

I can understand to a degree how 'original' fans must feel, but I echo the sentiments of many MyFC posters when I say that the vast majority of us are in it purely from an enthusiastic point of view and we will need to work closely with fans to seek opinions on who's been performing well so far, where changes might need to be made and so on. We're new to the team after all and will have to defer to your long-standing knowledge of the team.

I for one, would never dream of steaming on in and making wholesale changes to the team and I'm sure many MyFC fams feel the same way. If the team were able to see out the rest of the season with a degree of success while everything beds down (and who knows, perhaps there's the chance of promotion?), it would be great to develop this into next season.

I don't know if anyone has already suggested this as this is the only thread I've viewed so far, but perhaps long-standing fans could be offered a discounted membership to MyFC and therefore also have a say in how the team is run.

And has anyone suggested meet-ups? Afterall, as I mention above, many MyFC fans would love to pick the brains of longstanding fans and try to convince any doubters about our intentions.

I'm a MFC member and had kind of hoped the fans would be on board, but can understand the hostility - to a certain extent.

I think a few of the accusations that have been made are baseless. For me, this is not some experiment. I am really tired of Premiership football. I like watching it, but don't in anyway feel a part of it. I've supported me team - I have no desire to say who is it - for years and years. It's great to watch, but at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with me. I go to the odd few matches, the money falls into the hands of the owners, the players, the agents, the shareholders. At the end of the day, I just want to see an entertaining match, preferably a win. That's about as much as most people care. Hopefully, now I have a team where it's not just the results, but the welfare of the club that I care about.

Okay, I haven't been turning up week-in, week-out for the past 20 years - but my passion for the game has always been present. And hopefully, G&N will be the right place to put it, and that the MFC allows us to be more than just supporters, but part of the community of the club.

And I think that's how most of the MFC members feel. There are the odd few exceptions (there is some flute called Goonboy wandering around this forum who should strung up), but I'm sure not all the present G&N fans are great fun to listen to.

So for me, it's not about owning or picking the team. It's about wanting to really be part of something that shapes the game and a club that everyone can be proud of.

I do hope to make the trip to a match soon. I don't expect to be carried around in a sedan chair, etc. etc. - but I would like to be accepted into the fanbase as a fan and without hostility. Any chance of that?

Can't understand the negativity surrounding this, Ebbsfleet now have a chance to shine, and make it to the football league. As for picking the team, voting on everything, get real, we know that will never happen. The Manager/Coach will pick the team. The Executive board will buy the players and do the deals. We will get the qudos from being board members of a soon to be league football team. I'm on board for the fun of that.

Oh, and Paypal payment made to help run this site. I know what it costs to run a popular site. So, anyone got any more Ebbsfleet (and before) shirts to add to www.oldfootballshirts.com ? We'd be delighted to see them.

It's not an experiment as in if it all doesn't go well, I don't see myself throwing in the towel at the first sign of trouble (including negativity from the existing supporters).

And, I'm not following some anyones words, I have a mind of my own. I don't agree with everything in the MyFC ethos, but enough of it to be a member.

Urgh, I guess this is going to be a situation where people are not going to a) trust or B) see it from another point of view

“… nothing is more difficult than to introduce a new order. Because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new…”
