Just for Andy a short report laugh

It was cold, damp, we won 3-1, 2 goals from 16 year old Joe Taylor and other from Nick Moir. Defence looked solid especially impressed with Jake Eastwood every game I see him play.

Of corse just joking smile He is my full report.

On a cold, damp evening at Hartsdown, Margate Reserves were well in control most of the game against Hythe Town Reserves, who had to play in 'Gate's black and amber as arrived with no kit.

In the 8th minute Olti Keci started a great move sweeping the ball out to Paul Axon on the right, who in turn found Nick Moir, he turned inside the area and pushed a ball back to the incoming Kiron Morris who hit a low sweet shot which John Sparks fumbled at first but grabbed on second attempt. Ten minutes later 'Gate took a deserved lead when the impressive Dan Stokes found Morris in the middle of the park who then chipped over the Hythe defence for 16 year old Joe Taylor to run onto and hit his shot past the static Hythe keeper.

Four minutes later Nick Moir, who ran well all evening, hit a shot wide of the post. In the 26th minute he did a great turn and hit another shot but it was straight at Sparks. Hythe then had their first real chance on the half hour when Shane Carey hit a shot well wide. In the 40th minute a cross by Morris found Moir but his shot was tipped around the post by Sparks. Axon then had a shot just before the break which went straight into Sparks arms.

Six minutes into the second half, Moir broke towards the area but Darren Walmsley made a superb tackle, however the ball broke free to Taylor on the right who drilled in his second goal of the night. In the 61st minute Elliott Payne hit a lovely left foot shot but Sparks managed to parry it away for a corner, from which Jake Eastwood met it with his head but Sparks once again saved for a corner. Eastwood again met this but his header went just wide.

Then in the 72nd minute Keci hit a through ball to Moir who rounded the goalie and hit it into the net only to be adjudged offside. Hythe then got the ball in the net in 78th minute by Carey but once again the effort was adjudged to be offside. Taylor then had a chance of his hat trick but his his shot over the bar. Then out of the blue Hythe got back into the match when a long range effort by Stuart Taylor in the 83rd minute, went into the top right hand corner past the static Matt Bowles.

This seemed to spur Margate back into action and in the 86th minute Taylor slid a lovely ball into Moir who hit his shot into the net for a well deserved goal for his efforts on the night. Then on the stroke of full time they both linked up again when Taylor slid another ball to Moir but this time Sparks saved.

Hythe: Sparks, Walmsley, Webb, Hoyland, Russell, Lemar, Taylor, Mallett, Carey, Daffin, Taylor-Ryall Subs: Clark, P Coyne, A Coyne, Jones
