I have read many threads (thousands of posts) and I am a bit confused. You pay 35 quid a year to own one share in a club. You get no share of the profit. Or risk in the loss. You get (the illusion) that you pick the team on Saturdays. Liam puts forward 11 names. You may think "No. I think XXXXX should play up front." You submit your team and hope that 19999 others agree with you???

Please convince me why I should give 35 quid a year to MyFC (of which 7.50 never reaches the club), when I could just join the Fleet Trust for 35 quid a year and the club gets the lot and I would have the same level of control as I would with MyFC (least that is how it seems to me)...

So MyFC people sell it to me!

Because it's grassroots football at its most democratic. It's the most ambitious and most egalitarian method of football club ownership to date. And possibly most importantly, it can't - legally - be tainted by motives of profit.

Sure, maybe your vote will never be the decisive one. But I fancy that hasn't stopped you participating in general or local elections in the past - because that's what it's all about, participation. Being involved!

And the thing is, our democracy is better than that of UK government - all we can do there is change the leader every 5 years, but with this venture we can shape the club (of course giving due respect to its roots, heritage and existing fans) the way we (all of us!) really want. Ethically, in terms of community involvement, and of course on the pitch.

It's genuinely a unique opportunity and I know you're only coming to terms with it at this stage, but it's really, really exciting!

Nope, it doesn't look like they can!
