New Ground

The press release certainly sounded like we'd be looking to continue working towards a new ground.

By the way, as a newcomer tell me about the current ground - is it council owned? where's the best seat in the house? what are the pies like? Like all MyFC members I really want to get to know your club.

Well follow somebody else. But why the need to have 20,000 people put £35 into a website to allow the running of a club via internet polls?

Any new supporter will come along to their 1st game, generally knowing little of the club - they cant learn how good (or bad) every player is from 1 match, so they will continue to learn more as each game passes. A newcomer would probably know little of the workings of the club either, so Lager Top's suggestion that you cant get to know a club seems far more ridiculous to me.

But any "normal" new supporter wouldn't feel compelled to come along because he/she had paid £35 to an internet site to allow them to post their team selection. Anyway, I shall sidle out of here now back to my own club. Goodbye and good luck!

Alan, I agree. The vast majority of MyFC members, myself included, don't pretend to know your club yet. (We do have among our members some current EUFC supporters.)

What some here are forgetting is that every football supporter had a first day with his or her club. The shocking element in this case is that so many of us appear here on the same day, completely unanticipated by the current supporters.

I suspect if we appeared one at a time over the course of a year, we'd have been a great deal more welcome. Many members have said you want new supporters and new investment. But the Internet voting aspect leaves you cold. Fair enough. But don't object to the fact that we want to become supporters. Come Saturday, we'll all be hoping for the same result at Oxford. And ultimately, that's what should count.
